    April 20th adventure event SoCal

Gee, I wish I could take part in this. We have been at Joshua Tree National Park last summer, and it sure is beautiful out there.

Were non-turbo Humvees produced after introduction of the M11xx-turbos ?

Thanks you for all your replies. The knowledge that there were NA Humvees long after 1996 might help us in any future discussions. All my Humvees actually went through Steve Kopitos hands; he´s even a member in our german forum.

Great; very interesting to hear, thank you very much !

Were non-turbo Humvees produced after introduction of the M11xx-turbos ?

Hmm, interesting thought. You might be right; the first data sheets for that vehicle family were undoubtly civilian H1s, which were imported to Germany long before the first surplus ones. And possibly the authority just took those build years without extrapolating further for the military...

Were non-turbo Humvees produced after introduction of the M11xx-turbos ?

Thanks for your replies, guys ! That helps at good bit. I will continue to gather "solid" proof of this. It´s a joke that the authorities here will register a 1989 Humvee, but not a technically identical 1996 with the same engine, just because their lists are wrong.

Were non-turbo Humvees produced after introduction of the M11xx-turbos ?

I have a question for the resident experts here: After production launch of the turbo Humvees (M1114, etc.) around 1996, did AMG still produce non-turbo versions ? And if so, do you know until when ? Can this be proven by something like official documentation, or at least reliable sources ...

    HMMWV movie sightings.

I´ve rented out (other) vehicles and props to TV and movie productions numerous times. My main advice: Never, ever, rent it out without you being present all the time. Or better, bring a buddy with you so you can go to the bathroom while the other is watching the vehicle. Otherwise, the prop...

m998 Solenoid Wire ( 74A ) Hot All The Time

With the plug on the start/run-switch removed, measure the voltage on the three prongs inside the wire plug. Only 11A should have +24 volts. Then put the plug on the start/run-switch back on, and remove the footwell side plug on the PCB box. With the start/run switch on "off", PIN A (14A)...

m998 Solenoid Wire ( 74A ) Hot All The Time

Benny, where in Germany are you located ? Maybe we can find an experienced Humvee owner close to you. Also, not trying to lure you away from this great and indispensable forum, but we have a german-language forum under HMMWV-Forum.de . Maybe it is easier for you to describe your steps in your...

How does humvee trans know what gear to be in

Hello, and welcome to Steelsoldiers ! You are almost right about the sensors, but there are a few more (TISS, TOSS). You want to download this manual: 4L80 Troubleshooting Manual This is a lot to read, but it is one of the best and exhausting Humvee manuals out there. To answer your...

Self Canceling Turn Signal Arm Dimensions

Printing ABS is pretty difficult, and as you say, requires an enclosed machine for a start. PET-G has become my material of choice when I want parts that can stand 100+ °F, but are too large for my small enclosed printer. (My other, larger printer is not enclosed). PET-G has way less warping...

    Upper A-Arm bolts

I recently removed a number of shims to correct the camber angle on my ambulance. You probably can do this by removing the upper A-arm, but you can also do it with the upper A-arm in place. Basically, you measure the current camber angle, and then go to a table in TM 9-2320-280-34 (paragraph...

Self Canceling Turn Signal Arm Dimensions

PLA+ will start to melt at temperatures usually encountered in a Humvee in summer. I´d definitely recommend printing in ABS or PET-G, which have a much higher melting point. Also, I´ve had older PLA parts fall apart after 8+ years, probably from exposure to humidity, UV light, or whatever. PLA...

    Best sealant/glue for ducting

Acetone is a great solvent for ABS. Only problem is that it evaporates so quickly that it is sometimes difficult to apply. I´ve made myself a "slurry" of ABS chunks dissolved in acteone, so this slurry could be applied with a brush. Great for glueing larger ABS parts, and after the acetone...

    Stuck glow plug, advice needed.

Well, the manual glow box is one headache less for sure.... By the way: You mentioned testing by multimeter. There is a test procedure in TM-20-1 for the Glow Plug Controller/Temp Sensor. You´re supposed to measure certain resistances. However, this test procedure only works on the very early...
