Anyone Know What Size Hex These Are?

@Mogman - Found the TM and yes that is exactly the bolt part. figure 199 does not show the nut and washer under the body though. The bolts I am trying to remove are holding the radio cable channel guard to the bed. I want to remove the cables and see if I can put some insulation or gasket...

Anyone Know What Size Hex These Are?

@GeronimoK9 - I think mine are hex / allen heads. @Mogman - Thank you. I do not have that manual, I will go and find it. @DREDnot - I think my 5/16 fits bet - 8mm seems pretty tight but might also work. I think I will need to heat these bolts but I do not have a torch so do you think a...

Anyone Know What Size Hex These Are?

@Mogman - Is there a separate nut on these under the bodywork, or are they those nuts attached to the body? Also, where did you buy the 100 od these bolts? Are the ones you bought the same as the original part? I'm afraid I have damaged on already and will need to replace it. Perhaps some...

Anyone Know What Size Hex These Are?

Hello World, I don't have a good assortment of hex wrenches to try but my 8mm seems to fit - but pretty tight - so I bought a 5/16 inch hex thinking that must be it and it also does not fit perfectly. I've already rounded one bolt a bit so I thought I would try asking you folks. Here is a...

    New HMMWV Owner In Oregon

@supr65 - Did you drive your HMMWV to the DMV to get it inspected, or trailer it /tow it? @Gcelevator - We paid GovPlanet for the title service - an extra $200 if I recall correctly - and on the phone I asked if the title would be for my state, Oregon, and they told me they are all issued...

New HMMWV M1097R1 Guy Has Questions

@KKroger - Thanks for the tip. The TM I have does not show the power steering pump I have. Our HMMWV is the one with the reservoir on the pump / pulley assembly.

    New HMMWV Owner In Oregon

@GuntherRommel - I have a couple questions for you: How long ago was your last HMMWV registered - DMV'd in Oregon? Did you buy your HMMWV from GovPlanet and get the SF97 from them? If you got your SF97 from GovPlanet did you also opt for their title service? We opted for the GovPlanet SF97 +...

New HMMWV M1097R1 Guy Has Questions

UPDATE: I added some ATF fluid to the resevoir on the power steering pump a couple nights ago - made a bloody mess overfilling it - and I was able to turn the steering wheel left and right. It sure does make a lot of noise though. Does the howling indicate a power steering pump issue? I was...

M1097R1 Parking Brake Stuck Down (off)

@98G - I don't see any of those panels in my bed or inside the passenger area - see photos. @Retiredwarhorses - I tried turning the adjuctment knob on the brake lever both directions and did not have any luck.

    New HMMWV Owner In Oregon

@FlameRed - I saw that, but I also saw folks with Oregon tags so not sure what to make of it. @Retiredwarhorses - Does that mean I get a special plate for Oregon and just use it on the street? I've never owned a "Historic" vehicle before.

M1097R1 Parking Brake Stuck Down (off)

I think our HMMWV is a M998 older model. I am looking for a TM that shows where the cable is routed. The TM I found shows access panels for the parking brake in the bed of the truck but we don't seem to have those access panels.

    New HMMWV Owner In Oregon

Hello HMMWV Folks, We just got our M1097R1 HMMWV from GovPlanet delivered and are still awaiting the title stuff (told up to 90 days). We live in Southern Oregon and would like to know what issues we may encounter, if any, when we get to the point of getting our HMMWV street legal. If there...

M1097R1 Parking Brake Stuck Down (off)

Hello, I cannot engage the parking brake on our (new to us) M1097R1 HMMWV. It feels like it is stuck when I try and lift (engage) the parking brake lever. Once in a while I was able to get it to engage and it hold the truck well, but most of the time I cannot not pull up the brake lever. If...

New HMMWV M1097R1 Guy Has Questions

@TOBASH - Thank you. I will get the manuals and get reading. I found their website. They are in California and I am in Oregon so I won't be visiting them for this. Maybe they have parts I need so if they ship I will see. Seems this is a GM part power steering pump with different valving...
