I would use the transmission that come with the engine that I buy not the stock one that came in the military truck.

The 5 ton trucks with 6.44 ratio non air brakes would the big Cummins 300 or 400 be to much for the rearend? I believe 2.5 ton rearend are 6.72 ratio would the Cummins be to much?

so I’ve been searching a while for a truck. I have found 8.3s with no turbo and some with. Also the lds and ldt. I like the whisler turbo for sure. I think that’s on the ldt engines. I may have left out some engines. Which engine would be the best? transmission. I have found trucks with 5 speed...

Yes I know there not cat powered just was thinking it would be cool to put a cat in it. I have done engine swaps in different vehicles.

So here we go I’m looking at a m35a2 with no engine should I buy it and then buy a 3126 cat. Or should I buy a running m35a2 and be done? I don’t know much about the m35a2 engines.
