    New Mexico to Ohio again

After using the truck for a shelf for the last 5 years, I finally swapped in a new multifuel. It wouldn't start, so I checked the fuel shut off. It was stuck. After freeing it up, I tried to start it again. It is stuck wide open. I was able to shut it down in less than a second, but it...

Anyone Have This Setup: 33x10.5x15s on Black Rock 942 Wheels???

I tried to put 285/75/16s (33 inch) on an 8 inch wide wheel on my stock height M1008. They did not fit, and I did not want to cut the fenders. I put on a six inch lift and ran those tires for a bit. I have some 315s (35 inch) off my Dodge on it now, and will probably go with 37s in the future...

    CUCV 1986 M1008 - In a Real Pickle - Bad Heads - Need Advice

I am helping a friend out with a similar problem. I would say check craigslist to see what it is in the area. If you post a wanted ad you might have some luck. Sometimes people are sitting on old stuff and if they know people are looking for it they will contact you. Not many people are...

    LS Engine Swap, why?

LS swap I have driven a few LS trucks and when you put on a trailer you can feel it. They are good don't get me wrong. My dad owns a salvage yard and we have had them come in with over 200k and still run. The Cummins 12v is a dying beast. You just don't see them on the roads too much...

From one border to the other in a deuce and m105

I made a similar trip twice once with a M105 and another time with a M1008 in tow, El Paso to Ohio. Check your trailer connections every time you stop. I forgot to check the trailer after a long line in the glass McDonalds in Oklahoma. I decided to stop at the next exit to check it. Someone...

    Engine Stand

It looks good Ed. How sturdy is it when it moves. I need to make something for when I rebuild the cummins and the dead LDT thats still in the truck I just drove up here.

    New Mexico to Ohio again

Capt Pat I drove the 1008 home and got my other truck to pick it up. This engine was most likely overheated before, because the oil cooler had a hole in it. I should have it going soon.

    New Mexico to Ohio again

Yep...I was worried the first two days, but my worries lessened the closer I got to hope. If I didn't drive so much down south it might have let go in my driveway, but its home now. I might take the sister in law and wife out east to eat some blue crabs, and pick up an engine next weekend. I...

    New Mexico to Ohio again

I can swap the engine in a day. I need to get everything finished so I can perch fish late summer. Also I got 7.7 mpg before it broke. i'm going to pick up a pull out soon and hope it will last a few years untill I can swap the 12v in the garage.

    New Mexico to Ohio again

Here is what came out of the oil today. Some pieces were metal and some were more paintlike or varnishy. They broke up when I touched them. I think I am going to put another multi in it for now. I will be building a pole barn this summer and have four paint jobs to do. Two will require a...

    New Mexico to Ohio again

You are welcome anytime. If you make it up here before my sister in law leaves, you can get some tamales, menudo, y enchiladas. And probably some pedos too.

    New Mexico to Ohio again

I found some somewhere and they are on the trailer. I was going to paint the stack black, but since I didn't I might move them to the front wheels. I got the new twin hammer HF 3/4 impact. I could take three nuts off before the compresser needed to catch up. It uses a lot less air than the...

    New Mexico to Ohio again

Here are two more. The neighbor lady drove by when I was on the street and she didn't wave.

    New Mexico to Ohio again

I made it. I'm tired. The radials would not track straight, so I had to put some NDTs on the front. Those big tires are heavy. They also don't fit on the spare tire holder either. I put one there and tied it up with a strap. The other one I put in the bed. I used a strap, a high lift...

    New Mexico to Ohio again

I am glad you like the chrome lugnuts Ed. Its not your truck anymore so ride your universal deuce tool. Can you send me my dice? I miss them. It might be a few years until I get back down your way. The wife's mustang is a 10.5:1 347 ci 302 Ford based engine. It should run as good as a ford...
