I repurposed the spare tire mount off of my wrangler for a mount on my A3

Scored this a few months back for $50 bucks. Finally getting around to cleaning out the gear box, lubing, stripping and painting it today. It didn't come with the crank handle, but I found something pretty close from the RV world that works perfectly. It will finish of my project nicely.

Sitting here in Yellowstone. 2nd long road trip with the trailer. So far so good. Always lotsa questions and comments.

WOW! Another thing to look at, the length of the tarp, all 4 sides. Look at my tarp. It's about 6in longer than most.

No dust, dirt, water, or road grime. I was very pleased. I use those tarp bungees, the ones with the ball at the end to suck the tarp down and keep it a little snugger.

Definitely good it wasn't a steer. I always kept good tires on my tractor.

Its definitely fun. Blow outs suck. I'm a retired cross country truck driver. I miss the open road.
