    PLS system question

Yes and no. A standard M1077 flatrack (I assume this is what you are asking about) has normal twist-locks up front, but the rear is different. It is a swing arm that pins into place through the side of the rear iso-lock. Pic found here...

Just bought an M923 and I have several questions

Funny thing about those 250s... when running properly under load down the highway, the engine sounds like someone is rapidly hammering on a coconut.

M1070(HET) Tractors What are second lives/uses????

He gave the tips in the 1070 tips thread. Hit 1st (the only way to get 1st gear) manually, then shift manually at all times under load. If the splitter is working properly (I have driven several over the years with only high range split), you will see the rpm hit yellow, then drop to about...

    M1070 recovery

Yet they still can find the ability to mothball the HETs when you deploy. Think about it. Bliss can't. The HETs get used/abused by scabs from other units while 377 is away. Somehow certain things can't stop there... Its a bit busy being the supporting unit for Ft Bliss, Biggs AAF, White...

    M1070 recovery

CSSB = Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, part of the Sustainment Brigade attached to a Division. MTOE = Modification table of Organization and Equipment. The list of authorized personnel and equipment strength in a unit. I hope you didn't mean 1AD; the 1st Armored Division, America's...

M1070(HET) Tractors What are second lives/uses????

P3 Recovery LLC in Watford City, ND, is using a 1070 as a heavy off-road recovery vehicle. I have given him some modification tips to make it more effective, like how to bypass the park brake PTO safety interlock so he can use the winches to self-recover. He clued me into the other thread that...

    M1070 recovery

Yes, 96th deploys, but as you said, the civilians take over their rigs and maintain them while 96th is gone. When 377th leaves, the entire 1AD still needs to be hauled around for all their exercises (especially 2-1, the Future Systems Test Brigade), and the trucks continue working with...

    M1070 recovery

I was clued in to this by another couple of members. I just retired from 377th TC (HET) and could have possibly given a run-down of the truck based upon its bumper number before you had problems. I could have walked you through the exhaust issue (downpipe at the wrong angle coming out of the...
