    1952 M38 Donation Project

Hey all! Well, no progress today, hopefully tomorrow. Other events kept my buddy occupied today, and I don't have a key to the garage :( That said, I do have a question... on the Marine Corps equipment, what would be a Korean era correct undercoating? Just the rattle can (non-rubberized, I...

    1952 M38 Donation Project

The carb we should be able to rebuild ourselves, bikeman, at least that is the hope. We're trying to keep as much of this in house as we can to both keep costs down and expedite completion. And Ahab, yes, slot drive screws. That hold down everything small on this junk. Everywhere. My dad...

    1952 M38 Donation Project

So, another Sunday gone by, and we have the front clip off, tailgate off and dissasembled, a lot of the tie-downs loose, and I am SICK to DEATH of flat-head screws! Still having issues with the small pics, I am sending them to myself "full size" from my iPhone, but they still post small. I...

    1952 M38 Donation Project

So, mostly a walk-around of the vehicle for everyone. By day's end we had the windscreen off and disassembled, my OCD bits bags were piling up (I hate losing small hardware!!!) and we're getting closer to removing the tub for plasting and primer. The two main rust areas are the windscreen (not...

    1952 M38 Donation Project

Thanks for the advice, Bikeman. We had a fairly productive day two on the M38 yesterday. I will be posting pics shortly as soon as I figure out how to get them proper sized. I do have a question... I read in another post that if an M38A1 was passed from Army to Marine Corps in this vintage...

    1952 M38 Donation Project

Greetings all! It's been a while since I've been on the forums, largely due to the fact that I have sold the M1008. It went to a good home and a good friend. Another buddy of mine, however, recently received the donation of a 1952 M38. You read that right. Said buddy was in the Marine...

    Combining Dodge Tug and M1009

I'm sorry I can't find a link at the moment, but I was looking for a replacement dash panel the other day and found a "cut your own holes" panel for the C/K stuff that allows for the install of whatever guages you plan to use (mainly geared towards aftermarket guages). It was, however made of...

Poll - Who has done the Doghead Relay Conversion

Did the mod after 2 dead starters, and TY to doghead! No more tows or parkinglot thrashes (at least for the starter!)

    1976 Resto and Modernization

Agreed on the header option... on a work truck/hunting rig, its just not worth the hassle of constant exhaust leaks (expect to tighten all the bolts weekly, if not more). My 2 cents, if it were mine... I'd be on the lookout for a Mopar 360 long block at the local u-pull it. a refresh with an...

Looking for Info - Possible Relocation from CA to ID

CPF, I''m glad to see I'm not the only PRK resident on SS looking to relocate (and biggin too:) ) I've just started looking myself, and will be watching this thread with great anticipation. I hadn't considered Idaho yet, and have been looking at TX and TN mostly... For me the real thing will...

M1008 Front Brake Disk Rotor part number.

Also... if the steering wobble is all the time, check the stabilizer first... if it is ONLY under braking, it might just be warpped rotors... you may simply be able to have them machined instead of replacing. I don't know the specs for runout or min thickness off the top of my head, but I bet...
