    MTVR Seat Belt

My driver side seat belt on my MK23 is acting up. The retractor wont retract. Any P/N for the new replacement ? Searching online yields several different belt units, listed as including MTVR but none appear to be correct. Thanks in advance, Dirk

Jon, I was able to borrow a dipstick out of another MK23, and the fluid level was topped and showed no evidence of having any water. I’m planning to do a complete drain and filter change just to make sure. thanks for the help guys. dirk

    MTVR Transmission Dipstick

Thank you for the welcome Mullaney. I’ve been a member for awhile but haven’t posted much. My first MV was/is an M45a2, which led to an M923a2, which led to the MK23. Yup, I’ve got the sickness.

    New lower hitch

Very timely post. I’m looking for a tilt deck to haul some heavy equipment. I won’t be hauling frequently, but need to be able to move my equipment offsite if faced with another forest fire. The fires in Oregon this summer struck close to home, doing significant damage, including burning a...

    MTVR Transmission Dipstick

That’s a great question. The first place I looked was the vertical fill tube and I thought the dipstick was missing from the plug. Then I realized that was just the fill tube, and found the horizontal tube that exits behind the cab on drivers side. The tube is there but the dipstick is MIA.

    MTVR Transmission Dipstick

I took delivery of a 2003 MK23 this week and overall I’m really happy with the truck. It was purchased thru IP by a local civil construction firm that bought nine of these trucks to convert to water trucks. Their plans changed and they sold off all nine trucks. They all came out of Yerma, and...

    Front Axle Spiders Failing?

OK Guys - I'm a Dork. This morning I drug my buddy out to look at the truck. After a few minutes, he diagnosed that the noise was coming from the left u-joint body contacting the axle housing. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't have the steering arm tightened down yet, so the...

    Front Axle Spiders Failing?

Agreed, I will pull the left axle and check for straightness, although visually it appears nearly new. Thanks guys, Dirk

    Front Axle Spiders Failing?

Thanks Bachman, You are correct when you say I bought this as a tool, as I was originally just looking for a water truck to keep water on my property in case of forest fire. I had no prior MV experience, but when I found this thing on Craig's List I drug a buddy of mine along for a six hour...

    Front Axle Spiders Failing?

Hi - I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. A couple years ago I bought a 1975 M45A2 WO/W tanker to use as a water tender for my remote forest property in Western Oregon. The truck belonged to the U.S. Forest Service and according to a sticker on the dash was stationed at Elk River in...
