I made some headway on this MTVR today with the help of my team. We installed a NOS Camo soft top as factory correct. Windshields are out and being replaced. Bed was assembled and has complete sides. I've found it's either a repurposed USMC 5 ton ISO bed or a new bed built with minor changes...
I agree, something they carried over to the production MTVR. This control unit cycles through pressure on each tire in unknown order which is cool. The buttons are a bit crunchy to play with it too much at the moment. It does appear fully responsive including the load settings. It seems to want...
Yes it was. Nice system. It even displays tire pressure when doing the self check.
Bad tires replaced. The other 4 will follow when I have time and it stops raining. The wheel CTIS parts look like M35A3 with some cobbled together bits. Nothing is streamlined, clearly off the shelf concoction...
This is a very odd issue. Any transmission codes on the gear selector? This may be barbaric levels of bashing rocks together but.. drain the transmission system and start it. If the issue goes away then you've validated your transmission based issue. How does the fluid smell?
She did just that today. I replaced the transmission push button selector, pushed fluids as needed, and let her warm up slowly. The transmission needed more fluid in the last video so it was a little sluggish. Both rear left tires fragmented on the idle across the motor pool to no ones surprise...
I stock and mount 395/85r20's in Dallas, TX. @CallMeColt is due to bring his HMMWV up to me for an IP swap and maybe he could bring them to you on his way back. I carry the MV/T and X/XL. 90%-100% tread of various years (2005-2020).
I got her to fire up and runs nice. Good oil pressure and doesn't skip a beat. I have air leaks to tend to, bad tire, check all other fluids, and replace the gear selector from being baked in the sun for 25 years. She may just crawl out of her grave like a champ.
