    NH-250 Supercharged??

i don't think it would blow up, and i don't think he's trying to make more power than a turbo, or at least not more peak power. depending on how it is driven it could provide more boost at lower rpm than you would get from a turbo. the 1800-2100 rpm power band the NA motor has is only at the top...

    NH-250 Supercharged??

so in going back to the original intent of the thread, seems like nobody has ever tried a blower before but it sounds interesting. the debate of blower v. turbo is as old as the devices. if you already have the blowers "sitting under a workbench" as you phrased it why not give it a shot? the...

    Who Bought Those Oshkosh MK-48s???

ok 1: cab, max extension on offset dirt piles. 2: cab, max compression on offset dirt piles 3: trailer max extension 4: daylight under 1 tire = stuck with all diffs open. second round 5: cab extended, trailer compressed 6: trailer extended 7: daylight under two wheels unloads the front of the...

    Who Bought Those Oshkosh MK-48s???

thanks guys. i did end up pulling one of the dogbones off and checking, the ball joints are nice and tight, just the seals cracked. i guess normally an axle wandering side to side an inch would be grounds for concern, but it is designed in. these are Extreme Mobility, not Extreme Highway. the...

    Who Bought Those Oshkosh MK-48s???

so to those who have got theirs, i noticed during low speed maneuvering a pretty hefty clunk coming out of the rear tractor axle. while riding on a couch on the trailer i can actually see the rear axle shift an inch or so. crawling underneath the seals on the lower links are cracked and you can...

M915 battery relocation kit toolbox mod.

i get an easy 300 miles comfortably out of a tank, it doesn't hurt my feelings at all to stop and stretch a little every couple of hours. i made a trip from st.louis to jefferson city to pick up a trailer. it is about 140 miles from door to GL lot. from there it is about another 40 back up to...

M915 battery relocation kit toolbox mod.

the top- step is bolted on, the bottom step is welded. the tread plate on top of the box is bolted on. it makes for easy roof access. and a place to bungee stuff down. seeing as how i was mounting the box as far to the right as possible to clear the davit crane diagonal with the door i left them on.

M915 battery relocation kit toolbox mod.

i had thought about relocating the batteries and making the battery box/ under cab step a tool box, but i'm starting here. if i end up not liking the tool box up high i can always move stuff around.

M915 battery relocation kit toolbox mod.

once all the tools were picked up i took a couple of more pics. The boss even came by to give her fuzzy approval. the tire rack dose stick out from the cab a little. but it does not extend past the fenders. the 818's back rack is 93" wide so the wingnut on the outside of the tire carrier only...

M915 battery relocation kit toolbox mod.

Started this on friday and finished it up today. I've been looking for a way to get more storage in the 915. Especially considering i've been thinking of putting a second springer in for the passenger. I've been walking around a m93x series battery relocation kit for the last couple of weeks and...

Will a deuce run on refrigeration oil?

ok, so get two fuel tanks, idle and low speed with diesel/WMO, then when you get on the highway switch to WRO so it at least is blowing away from you.

Will a deuce run on refrigeration oil?

no chuck, i'm deliberately being a wisea$$. The points you have raised have been valid, I even understood the molecular diagrams you were using. while i think diluting it further would help, and if it is as light as everyone is saying maybe a little WMO and diesel could help dilute any harmful...

Will a deuce run on refrigeration oil?

so it should run, but there is a 4, or 0.4% chance it will eat your face. good odds as long as you're not in missouri.
