    24087'd the deuce this week!

I believe it was $39 a gallon and it took almost 3 gallons to complete it. But it was the top of the line Behr (Behr Ultra) so it was a bit more a gallon. I've seen some of the other guys use the other versions of Behr, but I don't know how the color matching works when you try and change the...

    24087'd the deuce this week!

I forgot I had a few pictures on my computer of it. This is before and after. I slapped some of that rustoliem red rust primer on the patches since it was all bare metal. Like I said, I should of spent some more time with the grinder but I was trying to fight weather and time, so a few things...

    24087'd the deuce this week!

Other than those pictures of the cut outs I did I don't have anything else. I can get a picture of what it looks like tomorrow though. I should of done more grinding after I welded it, but I was in a hurry. It was rotted all the way through, and the Army had used bondo to just cover up the...

    Show your 24087 deuces!!!

A huge thanks to vtdeucedriver for all of his help getting markings narrowed down and answering my technical questions. Finally got the stencils from Rick Larson and boy does he do good work. I would highly recommend him for any military stencil's needed. Thanks again VT for your help and...

    24087'd the deuce this week!

Only on the parts that I ground down with the grinder and wire wheel. Other than that, cleaned it off real good and left the original paint as primer. I'll get some better pictures tomorrow, those were crappy ones from my iPhone.

    24087'd the deuce this week!

It's finally finished. All that's left is to find and buy a canvas top. Took it down to the square in my home town where they have old cars every Saturday night. It got a lot of attention. :)

Failed MD CDL Class B due to improper vehicle!

I would look into that part as it varies state by state. I took my CDL test in an automatic truck and have no transmission restriction's on my license. I have a Class B with tanker and air brake endorsement. I do know that in my state if you take the A with an auto you get the restriction, but...

Failed MD CDL Class B due to improper vehicle!

I'm surprised the facility you tested with doesn't offer a rental truck. When I took my CDL test (In Indiana) for work we bought our own, but they offered trucks at the testing facility for $50.00 to use for tests if you didn't have one available to you. If you can go that route, I would think...

3m Panel Bond instead of welding?

As heath stated, give us some more information on the project. Welder type, wire size and maybe a few pictures of the project set up. A solid weld would be 100's of times stronger than a fiberglass adhesive or whatever the product is. Practice is key. If its solid metal your welding, than it...

3m Panel Bond instead of welding?

I can't say much about the panel bonding adhesive personally. But as far as your welding troubles, I can give you a few pointers there (work for a city municipality in the maintenance department and we do a lot of welding on various items). From the sounds of it you would be best to turn your...

    24087'd the deuce this week!

So it rained for a good 3 hours tonight. I'm hoping this paint doesn't run/bubble. I have read from the Behr posts that it takes quite some time to dry; it's only had 2 days of sunshine. I guess I'll find out in the morning.

    24087'd the deuce this week!

I sprayed it straight. I have read on here some of the guys have used warm water to thin it. I am by no means a professional painter, so I just hooked up and went for it. The most painting I do is at work, and that's on ductile pipework. When we run out of things to do they make us paint. lol...

    24087'd the deuce this week!

I sprayed it with an airless Campbell Hausfeld sprayer that I borrowed from work. It did a GREAT job, nice even coating and easy to apply. The sprayer I used is a rather expensive commercial one, but I have read that the guys using the wagner's have got good results too. Attached is a copy of...
