    M8 Greyhound Turret Mantlet

Bringing up an old subject, does anyone know of someone with a Mantlet for an M8 Greyhound? At one time someone was looking into having some cast in Aluminum, any ideas if that happened? Any leed’s would be much appreciated.

New to the forum and have some M920 questions

The M920 is a really good heavy hauler. I have been working on them and driving them for over 25 years. The Cummins Big Cam 400 has plenty of power. You will find the frame height pretty high if you wanted to put a 2 inch king pin fifth wheel on it an haul normal height trailers. We use ours...

    M-52A2 spin on oil filters?

I have installed many sets of the spin-on filter conversion kits. These are in my opinion the best and should be the first upgrade done to the Multifuel engine. I my 40 years of working on these engines the initial oil starvation on a cold engine has counted for over half of the catastrophic...

    This cold weather..

I would agree that its an air governor issue as I have had this problem before and had to use a propane torch to thaw the governor. I have had to pour gas line HEET(alcohol) into the air compressor to air tank line to get all the moisture out of the system.

max HP out of a 465 multi fuel?

I have rebuilt or overhauled many of the multifuel engines while running an engine rebuild shop for the Military. The Multifuel engine is a well built engine internally but suffers from 1950's diesel technology. The latest MF engine, the 1D uses coated piston tops and lower compression bowls...

    5 ton axle shafts!!

Those are the old Bendix shafts I believe. Those grooves are pretty typical and not really a show stopper. As long as the joint does not bind and lock when torque is applied at full articulation. I found these in the older Multifuel/gaser 5 tons. If you continue to use your shafts just keep in...

M936 tcase in an 800 series?

Having the front drive air shift capability would be a nice addition but beware the 900 series t-case has a weaknest under high torque conditions. The case may/will crack when the truck is put in low range and in reverse without the front airshift engaged. The automatic in the 900series produces...

2.5 Ton Rockwell Axle seal tool?

Pigfoot, I concur with the tanker bar with a bolt welded on it. I have changed a lot of these with a 4 foot long 1 inch rod with a piece of 1/2 inch rod stock welded on it used as a slide hammer. I have been looking for a source for the replacement seal for the M35A3 inner front axle seal...

    CAT 16 speed trans

I do have the Cat rebuild manual somewhere. I will look and if I find it look into getting it copied. From what I remember the clutches are held engaged with springs and disengaged with air. Good clean dry air is the number one thing to keep these trouble free. Making sure the air dyer is...

    CAT 16 speed trans

The Cat 16 speed trans is a really HD trans. It has 3 counter shafts to share the load. It has a clutch on the input end and on the output end there is also a brake at both ends. The large pistons have teflon seals that can leak which will cause hard/harsh shifts. If it is slipping under load...

New style injectors in 5 ton multifuel

The three NSN's you have there are for the different "useable on codes" the "A", "B", "CDE" you will have to look in the front section of the book to see what engine they go in. Example-LDS 427, LD 465, LDS 465 or LDT 465. The latest injector used was NSN 2910-01-214-2684, this is the two hole...

New style injectors in 5 ton multifuel

The LDT4651D late M35A2 engine uses the AMBAC made in Italy 2 hole injectors with a high 3600-3750 opening PSI, I just don't know if these will flow the same rate is the lower PSI 3050-3150 single(large) hole injectors. The plunger in the head of the 5 ton pump is bigger thus pushes alot more...

New style injectors in 5 ton multifuel

I have a M543A2 5 ton with a multifuel. The fuel pump is turned up a bit so the power is good for a 39,000 lbs truck with a small motor. My question is this motor is running some worn single hole nozzles in it for injectors and I have several sets of the latest LDT4651D injectors, will these...

    CASe M13K

Robert, I have a manual for the Case M13K forklift. We have it work ordered to us by the Marines who got it from DRMO and need work done on it. The forklift has been one son of a gun to get parts for as Case only made 13 of them for the Airforce. I am looking for axle seals for this one. Case...

    Deuce Clutch Problem

Try starting the truck with the transmission in gear. When it starts push the clutch in and the brake, if it has rusted or stuck this will normally brake it free.
