Carb cleaner works fine. If fuel comes through that should be all you need. There is a large surface area on those big flat filter plates. I feel the real culprit to the fuel system is not running enough fuel through the system annually. Drive it often and use good fuel. I don't drive mine...

Flip the center. Cut 1" off one axle and it works fine.

That is a fancy head gasket. It is progressing. I suspect it had zero valve lash as all of the rockers were tight when I took it apart. I need to replace the gasket for the cover on the side of the block. Hopefully it will be up and running today.

2 Burned valves in my red 1952 GMC army truck. Pulled the engine apart and sent the bare head (and 2 new surplus valves) to be machined. My Friday evening project was to re-assemble the valves in the head. Will install Saturday.

I have seen a few on ebay. There was an upgrade frame mounted pump from carter or ingersol or Facet. It is worth it .

Be aware there may be an air bleed at the top of the pickup inside the tank. Some had a bleed low by the pump and others had a bleed above the fuel level. That causes problems with an external pump. Once I figured that out, life got better!

I'll share my experience with a M211 with a stuck brake. It is a similar truck, but with dual wheels. Keep in mind there are 2 wheel cylinders at each wheel. Look on the back side and you will see where the lines attach with a hollow bolt. That will help you envision the orientation of the wheel...
