While changing the oil filters in my deuce, I noticed that the washers had not been included in the kit. No big deal. Upon removal, the previous filters were installed with copper crush washers. Being in a bind, I fabbed a couple up from some solid copper washers I had on hand. Later...

Here's a pic showing I had a problem. It was an extremely slow leak from the coupling hose right behind the filters. At first I thought that the clamp had just worked loose. Tightened it and idled for 30 minutes but the seepage returned. Was able to replace the couplers at both ends only...

Already measured as 2" as I had the same question. Gates 28229 is rated to 500 degrees, that would be fine right close to the engine, right?
