Maybe check your area for a shop that does rebuilds. I found a local alternator/starter shop that is great. I'm no mechanic and I'd guess maybe rebuild not always an option.

I had similar problem. Could hear glow plug relay clicking on and off rapidly and watch the voltage drop. The needle would bounce all over with the clicks. Then one day noticed a blue capacitor on the floor. It fell off the glow plug card. I was able to solder it back on and it was fixed. Seems...

I had a capacitor fall off my glow plug card. My symptoms were different, but wouldn't hurt to take a look at yours. I was able to solder it back on. Unlikely yours is the same, but won't hurt to check and see if it's something you can fix... assuming it's the card.

Been a while since I posted, and i'll admit I haven't read all posts, but thought I'd give my two cent opinion. There are guys here much more knowledgeable than me, so keep that in mind. If I was given atf, i'd look at it as free fuel. I'd mix it with diesel, though. I've run it before and works...

When I soldered that capacitor back on, it did fix my problem. Maybe check to see if you have a lose capacitor.
