I GUESS MY M1008'S Turbocharger is too small

yeah, I'm hoping to go to a boost regulated wastegate system, currently I'm running a mechanical spring pressure, and am fairly certian it opens way too soon, which allows overfueling, and that contributes to the higher EGT when pushing it. actually hope to upgrade to a HX35 myself this summer...

    M1008 retro build

more pics, Had a friend machine the dually rim clamping rings to accept 60 degree taper nuts, so I can mount later style hubcaps on(not the correct cap in the picture, the dually ones have not yet arrived.) Final paint scheme will likely be camo, or straight green. exhaust is a 2.5 dual...

    M1008 retro build

Life has a way of making things go to the back burner, like updating this thread..... but done quite a bit of work, 292 runs, NV4500 shifts nice, brakes are mostly bled, was chasing leaks and possible front caliper still leaking. I'm working on cleaning up the wiring, and getting it more road...

    6.5 Turbo Exhaust

3" downpipe. I used a couple 45, 90 and the 6.5 Diamond eye pipe to make it. Was time consuming, definitely need to make sure you can visualize how the bends are going together before you cut. attaching a few pics from the bottom side. Don't mind the oil, valve cover needs to be resealed, just...

I GUESS MY M1008'S Turbocharger is too small

Keep PSI under 10, and EGT under 1100F for safe operation. my 6.5 turbo runs 6-700F normal, when pushing uphill rises to 950-1000F. only 10psboost because my wategate opens too soon EGT on turbo engine is normally hotter then NA, because you are compressing and Heating the incoming air. you can...

    6.5 Turbo Exhaust

I routed inside frame, 1 small indent to make sure I cleared the frame, it is definitely doable. factory heat sheild on passenger side still there. no body lift. 1997 6.5 Turbo with DB2 4911 mechanical pump, GM-8 Turbo...I thought I had more pictures, but thats the best and only one of the down...

    M1008 retro build

I've always liked the 292, very torquey. I had recently acquired one, and was originally going for a lowered 2wd, but found this CUCV at a price I couldn't refuse. since the wiring was a mess, and the engine had some issues, I felt no issue with modifying for my want, which included being a...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Crossover steering requires at least 2 inches of lift, other wise there is interference with the frame and engine crossmembers. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Where's the pink sender wire? Fuel gauge reading past full could mean a break in the pink wire, ground it to chassis and see if gauge reads empty. If it does, then the issue is sender, if not, could be faulty fuel gauge. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

That is the factory style harness for a civilian style 6.2, it is all fusible link, 10 guage (orange) then split into 16 gauge(green) for each individual plug. The one rubber connector is a replacement, the spade plastic are stock for 6.2's. There are several write ups on this, not specifically...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I've always disconnected batteries for winter storage, but lately sometimes they don't work in the spring. A battery tender hooked up during the winter is the best way to preserve a battery. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

How to turbo a 6.2 using 6.5 parts

You need a T3 turbo gasket, online is best bet. From the factory none of the turbos used a gasket, they relied on smooth flat mating surfaces, same with the exhaust manifolds, from the factory there was no gasket. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks, I have my parts manual, but it didn't mention thread size, and the Elbow used to adapt was stated at a 1/4" NPT male, didn't mention female side. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thank you, I was looking at the commonly available 1/8" npt "T" in the auto stores, and was like, that looks too small. I am also away from the truck for at least 3 more days, but would like to be able to finish my electric fuel pump install this weekend. I need the T at the oil sender so I can...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Wondering if someone can confirm the size of the oil pressure sender fitting? I can't find any info, but I need to install a T, so I need to know if it's 1/4 or 1/8npt Thanks Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk
