I removed those screws and I could not get the drum to come off. Is there some trick to removing the drum? in the manual it says you have to remove the entire assembly to access the brakes. If I am reading the thing correctly.

Sounds like the tropical roofs that allow air to circulate under the plate and keeps direct sun off the roof keeping the interior cooler. Common climate control device in the tropics on buildings etc.

I will consider extending the bows up, but May just switch to Rubber rope and see if I can make that work first. On a side note, does anyone know if the Tan covers have the same issue?
