    M929 Dump Truck flexibility?

Cargo capacity of these older military trucks,,, Back in the early 80s when I still farmed I had a 1966 deuce and a half multifuel cargo truck. (newer than some of the Iowa Guard stuff at the time). I put 4 foot extensions on the sides, installed a used hoist and a 24 volt motor and hydraulic...

Mounting a snow plow on a LMTV 1078 First Post

I cannot find the bikeman post with the pdfs for the M1078 snow plow detail, called Arrowhead, was quoted $14K, I would still like to talk to a guard unit or municipality that has used them for feedback on power, maneuverability, balance and comfort of using a 1078 as a 10-11 foot plow truck...

    Amphibious?

I think I own that truck, came from Picatinney, a 1078A1, not certain but there is silt on the sun visors, have been using it for parts, but you're right the cab was real clean, seats still were water logged, have not had a chance to see if the engine is locked up or anything else, so far the...

    FMTV starter issues

I realize this is an older thread, but I had an issue a few weeks ago where a M1083A1 would suddenly not start after sitting inside for a couple weeks. Pressing the start button would make a click, but that was just a small contactor for the solenoid. Turns out the solenoid was stuck because a...

    LMTV Rim / Tire Question

I had some talks with Hutchinson, they do make a wheel that would fit the LMTV, which I think is the same hub as a standard 10 bolt pilot hub that most over the road trucks used, two problems that came up, 1. I got the impression that the 395 85R20 tires need to have either run flat or...

Oil pressure indication problem with M1083A1 and M1088A1

I thought I posted this this am but do not see it, so apologize if redundant, new to to this site so bear with me, first of all, the engines have oil and run fine, the m1083a1 has had intermittent oil pressure guage reading since I got it and the oil pressure and stop engine lights come on...

If you asking about the m1078 Meritor/Rockwell axles yes, I called Meritor and have the pns for the 6.14 gear sets along with the distributors that handle them, can forward in the am when at the office, list is between two and three grand per set,

    FMTV High Speed Gears

I have been thinking about this myself, with the 5. something ratio of the MRAP axle, a huge reduction in rpm if you are sticking to more of a road environment what about replacing the entire axle ? if the punkins are in the right position, that might be easier,,, Thanks Mike
