MEP-802A Oil leak at pressure switch

Not gonna lie, I'm half tempted to take the TIG torch to it and see if I can just seal it up with low fuming bronze or something. Small passes at lower amps to not put alot of heat into it. Worst case I wreck an already bad part.

MEP-802A Oil leak at pressure switch

Maybe mine is just bad. I'll order one in, looks like they're about $50 on Amazon. I'll see if anyone local can cross it to anything to line up spares.

MEP-802A Oil leak at pressure switch

Good afternoon all, I was doing some service on my 802 today and found that my oil pressure switch is leaking from the little setscrew on it. I tried tightening it and even removing it and putting some teflon on it to no avail. The direct replacement part number appears to be Nason SM-2C-15F/QC...

MEP 805b generator crank no start-

I haven't been able to find one cheaper than about 2k. The local John Deere dealer can get it, I think there was an outfit online that was able to get it too. Just need the engine serial number, the part number on the pump helps alot too

At a crossroads on my 805B, need advice

Oh yea, someone definitely had the engine out before I got the machine. The flex plate bolts were loose, the injection timing gear cover bolts are stripped out, the oil pan gasket was full of RTV, the block had been power washed. My buddy thinks they put mogas in it lol. As soon as I have the...

At a crossroads on my 805B, need advice

Turbine wheel was bad, not compressor. I think a part of the crown came apart and chewed it up. The other 3 piston crowns were missing pieces but there was no sign of them coming apart while the engine was together. In other words: Piss poor overhaul. Actually know a guy in town (has a shop...

MEP 805b generator crank no start-

107% fuel level. Interesting. Mine does that when I have the dead crank switch in the wrong position. But it won't crank from the S1 switch if that's the case.

At a crossroads on my 805B, need advice

#2 piston is chewed up, along with the head a little bit. Nicked the exhaust valve seat which is what triggered the miss. Turbine on the turbo is toast and it's leaking oil. Oil pressure was at 55 compared to other units in the 70's so bottom end is likely worn too, but may be a weak oil pump...

Might need a generator checked out in Slidell, LA

Anyone near Slidell, LA that is familiar with MEP-805B generator sets? Or just someone that can be smart eyes and ears on site and go over the unit with me over the phone? Shoot me a PM with your price and availability and we will go from there.

MEP 805b generator crank no start-

Ok, so it cranks over but just never fires? Have you verified that you're not losing prime? My 805 would crank over forever it seemed like before it finally got prime. I would have to prime it with the manual lever on the fuel pump, and then after some cranking (much less than without) it would...

MEP 805b generator crank no start-

Stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway because it kind of sounds like it: Is your "dead crank" switch in the correct position? Have you verified that it is? Because I did that on my 805 the other day. Couldn't get anything to clear, dead crank switch was in the wrong position. Flipped...

MEP 805b generator crank no start-

Ok so on my 805B on initial start here's what I have to do or mine won't start: 1: turn on master control and panel lights 2: Turn on start switch to prime and run 3: Hold fault reset for 2-3 seconds (your low oil pressure message will clear) then release 4: Turn start switch to "Start" 5: Profit

At a crossroads on my 805B, need advice

So I've been messing with my 805B for a while now, and besides the cost of buying it, I've put money into other things on it to get it going well. Well, it started making a noise and I was speculating for a while on what to do, but today I finally pulled the valve cover to see what's going on as...
