BFR Metals, Salina Kansas, a Goodie Hole

Also, if anyone is wanting to visit the salvage yard up there, it would be worth it even if there is 10 feet of snow. It's the best kind of playground.

Glen, How's the weather? We already have maybe 4 inches and it is very wet snow. If you remember, I visited with my two new purchases and was looking for hardtops. One of my fire chiefs will be coming up some time to get 4 of them from you. Do you have that many?

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

Well it's official, I have to make one now. I really like how that turned out and I think it will work perfect for my application. Couple questions, though. What are the rough dimensions? Doesn't have to be specific, just for a starting point. How do you like the wood? The comment about...

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

Thanks. Mine would be for a fire truck and will see some pretty rough ridin. I need it to be well mounted. I think what you are doing is a great addition. These trucks don't have alot of good placement for add ons.

OK... I admit it... that first step in the M925A1 is a Bit%$ .. what have others done

The steps I purchased from a local vendor in Pratt, KS called 54 Pickup. I believe they get them from Buyers Products out of Cleveland, OH. I called 54 Pickup and that is the name they gave me. The step is not mounted to the truck yet, but I will get pictures when it is.

Here is a picture of the ladder step. Although it is not the same brand or company I bought it from. When not in use, it slides away and clips in tight.

That spring step looks pretty cool. The cable steps I purchased were $90 each. And the slide out ladder step was $125.

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

That looks great. Did you build it completely out of wood? All plywood or 1x? I was wanting to mount my vhf and uhf radio up high, but I have a fiberglass cab. I like the idea of this. I could put both radios, my 6 switch box, and siren switches all up there. How did you mount it? Or did...

If you try to use the MK48 steps, they will be too low. You have to use the lower step portion and the hinge without the upper step. I ended up going with steel cable steps for the 4 923s I just got for the fire department. I also ordered a slide away ladder step, but this was for getting...

14.00R20 Super Singles to 11.00R20 duals

I still haven't decided if it is an absolute need for duals. I did stop by BFR in Salina and spoke with Glen (91W350) on my way back from picking up the two new 923A1s. I would say if you are in the area it is a must that you stop by. It's just like a giant playground for adults. I did find...

14.00R20 Super Singles to 11.00R20 duals

MWMULES, I will be driving right through there to pick up my next two 5 tons on Monday. I have never been there, but will be stopping on the way back. I hope Glen doesn't mind the permanent smile that I'm sure to have.

14.00R20 Super Singles to 11.00R20 duals

DeucesWild11, I believe you would run into some interesting problems with that. The front and rear diffs would be turning at different speeds, but the trans case woud be trying to turn at same speed. Something has to win and I bet the diffs would. There goes an expensive trans case...

14.00R20 Super Singles to 11.00R20 duals

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think about the 12.00s being radial or bias. They are a bias tire and wouldn't be good with the ABS. So I will narrow it down to locating the 11.00R20 Goodyear G177. I did find some close, but they only have 5 rims w/tires. The speedo is something else I...

14.00R20 Super Singles to 11.00R20 duals

Thanks for the quick reply. I would assume the 12.00s would fit the same rim as 11.00s without incident.
