    MEP 005A Emergency shutdown

Down at the railroad museum we have some old 3p equipment that we can't use as our phase converter is not big enough.... but that wont be an issue with this generator. So it will get loaded well when used to run that equipment.

    MEP 005A Emergency shutdown

Does It need to be balanced to prevent damage to the main generator? If so then yes I can put some junk load on it... or I might come up with a little wiring and switches trick to be able to flip back and froth between normal 3p and dog leg. I don't want to modify it if I don't have to. That's...

    MEP 005A Emergency shutdown

Thanks again for the replies. A few other questions... I know that if i leave it configured for 3phase I can only get about just under 2/3 capacity running it as single phase... and that wont hurt anything... or a can "dog leg" it and get near full capacity. I guess my question is running it...

    MEP 005A Emergency shutdown

Ok cool. So it will open up the breaker if it runs out of fuel and shuts down. That is one less concern I have about it. Thanks for the info.

    MEP 005A Emergency shutdown

I have a now working MEP 005a and was wondering what happens when the generator shuts it self down for low fuel... or anything else that causes a shutdown. Does it automatically open the main breaker disconnecting the load from the generator or does it stay closed? It had issues that I was...

    Haspin Fall Get Together 2016

What the crap! I didn't even know this was going on. Too late for me. Why wasn't this in the rally section?

    Military vehicles at car shows

I take mine to the car show in Valpo on Fridays when I get home with enough time to get there early. Otherwise there is no where to park. People always come up to me and ask a ton of questions. I answer as much as I can. The old timers like to stop by and chat and tell stories about stuff they...

    Pyrometers

I used a combo gauge from Glowshift. I have the extra pressure hooked up to the secondary fuel filters so I know what the pressure there is doing. http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/3in1-EGT-Boost-and-Pressure.aspx I should also mention I have a small 24V to 12V under the dash to run that gauge...

    2016 Haspin rally, June 8th-12th, info/discussion thread

If this is true about no night riding this is going to piss of my entire crew. They love going out in the dark. Didn't spend money on lights not to. EDIT: After looking at the site the rules seem to be the same. No riding after 10:00 PM or before 6:00 AM. But that never stopped people from...

    deuce blowing blue smoke

He mentioned oil on the hot side of the turbo... could be turbo going bad if its leaking oil and coating the stack with oil?

How easy does your multifuel deuce start?

Mine starts the same way. It lives outside. It will start like that even after sitting for a month down to about 35. If its colder out I have to fiddle with the flame heater a bit to get it to fire off.

    I broke the front axle

Yeah the other side looked ok. At first I did not know what side had broke so I started on the drivers side and it was in one piece and looked good and straight with no twisting on the splines.

    I broke the front axle

I did and it is in one spot. but it's not leaking and I still get 60 PSI when going down the highway so it must not be restricted enough to matter.
