I thought of that, I don't think so. The Link is short of grabbing onto the cable but I wired it up after this happened anyway. One thing that I noticed was that the parking brake cable was rusted so bad that it seized. I never use the parking brake but if It did get hung up on something it...
Just wanted to update. I bought a welder and finished the job right before our last big snow storm. We use this truck to plow our road roughly 3/4 mile from our driveway though difficult terrain to a town plowed road. I consider the truck to be a family member, she has done amazing work. I...
O.K. I was thinking of longer bolts with flare nuts. Welding the nuts to whatever is left of the flange, at least then it would be removable. will send pics when done.
Thank you cucvrus. I have power right there. All I need to do then is rig up a 220v outlet for a welder. My only concern is that one of the lower ears is bent so I guess I need to make sure the backing plate is lined up right.

I can't afford a new axle so I need options. One of my thoughts was to install new backing plate and leave out brake components and cap off the brake line at junction block then I at least would have three wheels with working brakes. Also the bearings are toast in wheel hub.
That's really cool but ordered one from Hillbilly wizard I shouldn't back out now but that is so nice of you. Thanks!

Have a set of NOS rear shoes, wheel cylinder, and used backing plate coming from Hillbilly Wizard. I did not realize how much work it is to get the drums off. When I said I had experience with rear shoes it was on my ford ranger. Just a bit different. I will search the tm' s for tourqe...
Ha ha. Lately to me is kind relative since it seems I have no time to do anything so a year to me is lately. So ya. :)

Ah let's see... depends on definition of lately. Last summer replaced radiator also last week replaced glow plugs. Pretty boring I know but soon I will be doing some brake work. So not much really.
Went over some of the tm's to familiarize myself and am dumbfounded at the amount of info on this site. Very nice. Now that I have a "smart" phone I will be viewing this info more regularly.
Just tried to find this part-
Backing plate 14068905. Apparently it is no longer made. I was thinking of trying Hillbilly Wizard unless I'm missing something. Seems odd that no one makes this part for such a common axle.
