For anyone watching this and taking notes, it’s a whole lot easier to run a returnless fuel system than using the return style I had already. I was able to swap my rails for a returnless style thanks to a local guy here. I could have used what I had but also had concerns about using the factory...
it’s ok work, doesn’t compare to the stuff you do sir, but I appreciate the compliment.
Factory shroud extensions? I had no idea that’s a thing? Is it an H1 thing or a Humvee? I do believe I should have run the shroud all the way around the fan, but this is what I had here. We will see.
I...
So the other day I was working on this, installing the radiator, and I was standing in the engine compartment. The hood prop rod wasn’t secured and the hood started to fall so I grabbed it and it took me with it to the floor. Unfortunately I broke the hood, total bummer. Luckily I was able to...
I bypassed the oil cooler on the LS motor, so all I needed cooling for was the transmission and steering. Found 2 of the smaller coolers and decided that made the most sense, they are cheap and fit… also mounted up the engine covers to see how they fit, not sure they will stay. Need to do...
I was hoping to be further along than this, but other responsibilities have had priority. Found a better lower radiator hose. Made some progress on the mount for the fuel pump and laser sending unit. Working on relocating the upper radiator hose mount and blocking off the old one…
I’m still working on mine, I’d say it would be smoother if I had buckets of money.
All that aside, its interesting to me the guys that have done these in the 998s, seems like they are able to get the engine a bit more forward, which is a huge plus if using a mechanical fan like I am. Despite...
Well engine sits back a little further than I thought. I’ll be making some shroud extensions, I can cheat the radiator back a bit if I drill a new hole for the lower mount. Not sure if I will do that though. Lower radiator hose came out good. I’ll be modifying the upper radiator hose location too.
Working on some of the smaller things, knocked out the heater hoses and throttle cable today. I reused the throttle cable shield/hose from the Humvee but ran a new cable through it.
Looking at the Hydroboost setup I think the exposed fitting is pressure to pump and the one with the plug over...
Came up with this for an air intake setup… also working on some other details right now that I hope work out well, but the parts have been delayed due to all the bad weather across the country. The Holley Terminator uses a MAT sensor so I had to put a npt bung on the tube. Came out ok for scrap...
