    M818 for business

In my neck of the woods the loggers, before the economy went south, used the M818s a lot. They would load the logging trailers in the back forty, and then use the M818s to move the trailers up to the hard road. The on road tractors would then take the trailers to the mill.

M116A3 - VA Title & Registration, Insurance question

Don’t take this the wrong way. I think you are over thinking the issue. If the vehicle, in this case has a current Me. tag you are good to go. I have yet to see any officer pull over a private vehicle and give them any paying paper for having different state registrations between the towing...

MKT-75 It started out that I wanted to make a tactical burger.

Your post reminded me of the “joyful” times at the JWSERE school run by Scout Rangers in the Philippines. You would be surprised how happy one can become when one comes upon some taro plants. Boiled taro and cray fish were a feast. Every so often they would spoil us with rice.

How do "lift" your 1200 lbs MEP803 without a forklift??

If you don’t have the “equipment” to move it, time to improvise. In your case a simple pallet jack and two sheets of plywood will work. It will take time moving one sheet in front of the other, but it will work.

Won a MKT90 today on GSA!!! What %#$& do I do with it?

Since you plan on recovering it with a Deuce that makes things easy. As already posted a High Lift jack is your friend. If you Deuce still has 9X20 tires having a spare for the trailer is solved. I always carry a large tire bar for releasing the landing gear lock. It is easier than pulling it by...

Won a MKT90 today on GSA!!! What %#$& do I do with it?

A few things on recovering it. The transport covers on that trailer are not road worthy. Bring some shrink wrap and wrap the whole trailer, then add some tape over that. The sides are trash, the front vinyl as Mike has posted maybe good with bad thread. No reason to destroy good vinyl if...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

Good info and I was debating on getting one above the 2000 S/N but down here I don't need a heater and the glass will likely only make the cab hotter. I saw 4 more units with low-low hours sell recently but they were rust eaten and that's something I don't want to have to deal with. Correct...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

The later models have a bar that is placed under the front lift arms when working on the machine for safety. The lockout on the left is for the same purpose. I’m not sure about whether the side lockout bar is necessary for DOT transport. However, whenever one is moving a piece of equipment that...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

If you can’t find the TMs online or Mike doesn’t have them handy, I have them as a PDF in my computer. It is definitely not a machine to play with. Having the TMs are a must. When it came time to pick mine up from Ft. Meade, I had a local company move it for me. I have a trailer that it will...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

I got one off GP last December. They are nice units to have around the house. I was lucky in that the government did a full service, fluids, filters, air filters, and what not. They were even nice enough to install new tires and lights on it, then parked it for a year. It is nice to see our tax...

    m105 trailer brakes lock up

There could be several things going on. First a little background on trailers. On newer all air systems, after 1976, when the emergency air line is charged the air tank(s) are filled and the spring brakes are released. When the brakes are applied, air goes through the service line, through the...

    Dummy load?

Too bad you aren’t closer. I still have all the load banks on the front of the M447C trailer. Maybe someone closer may have one you could use.

Coolant explosion on the M817 today

A blown head gasket will pressurize the cooling system as described. When an oil cooler fails there is usually oil in the coolant as opposed to coolant in the oil. The oil pressure is higher than the coolant pressure. The question is how long was coolant in the oil? Coolant destroys crank...

    Hot tub?

This was before the time of everyone having cell phone cameras, THANK GOD. Let us just say there was a group that filled a roll off dumpster with water. A couple of immersion heaters were added for heat. Then an out-board motor was clamped to the side for water circulation, just like a Jacuzzi...

Lightweight Decom Unit M17MCHF engine operation?

The TM for the unit is TM 3-4230-228-10. I just uploaded a copy of the TM in the miscellaneous TM section.
