    M35 Mess Truck

What a great response!! Thanks so much. In many respects that's just what a model builder attempts to do.....capture a moment in time. I was in this Battery in Germany for 2 years, (one more in HHB), and there were SO many meals I ate from this truck, and midnight soup and coffee as well...

    M35 Mess Truck

And the last of them. Thanks for letting me post these and I hope you enjoy them. My next project is to build the Battery Maintenance Truck, which is also an M35 with a unit built shelter towing an M105 trailer. Hopefully it'll be easier than this one since there's no opening and platform for...

And some additional shots showing the section set up in the field.

    M35 Mess Truck

I finally got finished setting up and photographing the Mess Truck. It had been a while since I completed it and the glue joint holding on some of the more delicate parts like hinges had gotten loose and I had to make a few repairs. So attached are the photos of the entire set up. I think I'm...

    M35 Mess Truck

Yeah, I am pretty sure that our Mess Truck did NOT have M-37 ranges as they surely would have been replaced with the M-59 by the early 1970's but they are certainly close enough and would have been a pain to modify. They were hard enough to build as it is!!! Not sure where I found this set...

    M35 Mess Truck

And finally some of the completed vehicle. Just a quick note. All of these photos were actually taken just after I completed the build, which I was just shocked to realize, was in 2007! Since I took these I have done quite a bit of work not only weathering the truck so it looks less like a...

Thanks. Turns out the site limits me to 10 photos per post so here are some additional ones. Tom

    M35 Mess Truck

This is all scratch built from sheet styrene. I do a lot of scratch building so I have a lot of it in various thicknesses and widths so I have whatever I need on hand. And as far as the nuclear relation, we DID have "special weapons" and in fact one of our M35s was designated as our special...

M105 Trailer with 600 gal Fuel Pod

No problem, I've re-posted the thread in the model section. Now to answer your question. The Model of the M35 is the AFV kit which is very good. I've spruced it up with the Eduard PE set which helps a lot. As far as where I purchase them, it's pretty much whoever has them available on line.

    M35 Mess Truck

Now that I've found the correct spot, I'll re-post this. Previously I had asked some questions about M105 1 1/2 ton trailers for a model project I'm planning to do in a few months, and that led to a request to post some photos of some models I'd already done, which I put in the wrong place...

M105 Trailer with 600 gal Fuel Pod

My apologies, as I'm new to the site and didn't realize there's a better location for the posting. I'll move the new post I just made to that section. Thanks!

M105 Trailer with 600 gal Fuel Pod

Thanks for the interest! I'll start a new thread for that over on the Deuce and a half thread.

M105 Trailer with 600 gal Fuel Pod

That sounds about right. That's right in the middle of the period I was in my unit in Germany, so I'm guessing that at that point in time it was probably common practice to have an M105 with Single Wheels with a 600 gal pod. With that, then I will go ahead and modify the model kit which has...

M105 Trailer with 600 gal Fuel Pod

Thanks! It's actually surprisingly easy. I use acrylics which clean up with water. The bowl I keep filled to clean out my brushes eventually gets very dirty, usually a sort of dark brownish green. I just get a large brush, dip it in that and wipe it all over the vehicle. Eventually with...
