Just pulled 4 hawkers out and two were seriously bad and other two were borderline. Anyone out there know of a good replacement? Same size would be great and terminal location. Thanks.

Old thread but I got a new question. Will the pulley from the original alternator work on the delco? I’m thinkig about converting mine. The old one is not charging. It will charge sometimes after a few whacks from a rubber mallet. Thanks.

I guess the only way to check the batteries is to unhook then all from the 24 volt pattern and check them individually. I prolly do that tomorrow as well as check voltage at alt. I wonder if you found a bad battery or two you could just use two good ones to make the 24 volts and go from there. I...

Thought I would mention one of my easier fixes on my 5 ton. If you have one and your washer fluid does not squirt fluid onto windshield pop the hood and switch the rubber hoses around on the washer fluid tank. I think when mine went it for an "overhaul" they mixed up the hoses.
