    Vehicle ID

Howyadoin' Phill ? If it's available I'd love to "grab it" mate but as it's about 4000 miles from me here in the UK it isn't the most practical venture ! Far enough from Nowra too I would have thought. I am about to go over there on holiday but won't be anywhere near Colorado where I assume...

    Vehicle ID

Hi there, Just to say that my own truck, an early CCKWX, has no suffix stamping either, just a four figure chassis number. Is this nomenclature plate made of brass ? Difficult to be sure on the photo but it looks like it. Hope this old girl gets saved, CCW's are pretty rare. Cheers

    Help identify CCKW top bows

Hi, these look like Jimmy (CCKW) hood sticks to me. I can't contribute regarding the value mind because here in the UK both vehicles and parts are generally much more expensive than over in the US.

    Purchasing a CCKW .........Maybe ??????????????

I've been reading up about this left / right hand drive business in Australia and it seems to say that the conversion to right hand drive is only neccessary if the vehicle is to be used commercially. There appears to be exemptions for historic collectible vehicles over a certain age providing...

    Purchasing a CCKW .........Maybe ??????????????

Tidy truck Phill, you've certainly 'gone to town' on the old girl. So have you managed to get the certified weight of your truck under the 4.8 ton cut off then ? I've kept the original GMC gearbox on mine, how do you like the Allison ? Paul.

    Purchasing a CCKW .........Maybe ??????????????

Thanks for clearing that up raeme. Glad to see that you're driving a diesel powered CCKW too. I've converted a couple in the past and my present truck, a CCKWX is running a Perkins 6354. Theres not a lot of room to play with but well worth the conversion hastle. heres a picture

    Purchasing a CCKW .........Maybe ??????????????

Hi Justin, your truck looks good as it is to me. Tell me something, I've read somewhere that all 'commercial' trucks in Australia have to be right hand drive, is that true? I know I've seen several pictures of Studebaker US6's and even Willys MB's that have been converted, what's the legal...

Are these for an 'A' frame, crane jib or what ?

Hello yes, I'm almost certain that these are post war. I've seen the traditional 'A' frame mountings, they were situated probably a foot back from the towing hooks and as you say, on top of the chassis rail, although this photo from the Becker book shows a different mounting. I'm inclined to...

Are these for an 'A' frame, crane jib or what ?

Couple of pictures of CCKW's with the same, presumably post war, front bumper modifications. I'm looking for a picture of the 'A' frame, crane jib, snowplough or whatever that these brackets were made to fit. Cheers. .
