Lug Nuts Way Overtorqued (!)

Why tire shops will stall out an 1,200 ft/lb air wrench on every nut always pisses me off.

That much torque will dish out the rim holes, too. Untrained kids is what I've seen.

All you need on a Budd nut is 300, so a poor mook can take off a flat on the road with hand tools.
My first course of action would've been to take the truck back to the shop and make them redo it at proper torque. If they're going to be jerks about it then I'd leave them a bad review on Google and go elsewhere. Personally I just do it myself. I have a Chinese cast-iron 64:1 torque multiplier I use in combination with a 1/4" drive torque wrench to set the torque on the lug nuts and clamp ring nuts. Sometimes I use my 4' Armstrong torque meter, but sometimes it's hard for me to read the torque dial when it's 4 feet away from my eyes :p

Our Mercedes car came with an 8" long lugwrench. That is plenty to tighten them properly.

I've had a buffoon at Discount Tire say that can't possibly achieve the proper torque for safety.

I think HIS nuts are too tight...
