I will have the original mil dearborn adapters in stock again next week. And if you buy an adapter from me I will include at no cost real mil cat et. It only works on mil engines though. Not on civilian vehicles.
DPA 3, or 4/5? All of them have had NSN's at one point. I know the DPA 5 PRO is currently fielded - 4910-01-689-2353

I think they are 4 plus usb. I believe you need the usb one for canbus on the c7 trucks.
The DPA-3 works totally fine with my C7 over serial. And the speed is basically identical from what I can tell vs. the DPA-4 - It doesn't seem like the limitation is the interface between the DPA and the PC. USB is nice since it will work with more laptops. I do like the serial cable itself though since it securely attaches at both ends and can't easily be pulled out of the laptop port. They both seem to work just fine for these trucks including bench flashing ECM's, etc.

I have an '07 M1081-A1 (C7) and have read through many of the related SS threads and this one seems to contain the best information. My observations thus far are that there are several options to interface with the C7 but only the DOD option (Black SWICE?) interfaces with the C7 and covers the entire truck with TM's? I have the -365-10/20 TM's and the 391-10 TM, but would prefer a complete TM that covers my truck not the earlier versions that have a different engine. Even the 391-10 doesn't specifically cover the M1081. Will the DOD kit? If so, and my understanding of options above is correct, I'd appreciate source(s) for the DOD kit. Thanks! Paul

The SWICE kits are very hard to find. For most purposes the DPA (3/4/5) is a less expensive and significantly more available option for computer communications and is going to do everything but the hands on diagnostics that require a DVOM, or other test instruments. The SWICE kits is extremely choice but you can "roll you own" with a DPA, a handheld oscilloscope/DVOM/amp probe, and a couple other test kits for pressure and so forth.

The manuals are a different story. PM me on that topic. The electronic, interactive manuals are not simply portable documents. They are actual software now.
