Would that bolt method try to push the pistons back in at an angle? Since it is off to one side.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
The piston wells are deep and the pistons fit is extremely tight. It is already about 30% seated and I think any angular force would be negligible, and the same situation applies at the piston extraction which I also pulled it out holding it from one side and it came straight out. The sidewalIs show zero signs of stress even after shearing the GR8 bolts, I am not worried about it,Would that bolt method try to push the pistons back in at an angle? Since it is off to one side.
Of course, you guys helped me out so much, I am glad to be able to add even 0.1% to the conversationThanks for the 1/4" bolt tip. I just did one in a couple minutes. it was smooth.
you can buy rebuild kits from HPG or MAC motorsI'm trying to rebuild my 2009 REV B1 Wilwood calipers. L/R totally locked up wouldn't retrack sm my Left rear wheel wouldn't spin. Managed to get the retention pin out (corroded) and tap the pads free (lost of grime and grit on the backing plates, then removed the corroded bolts and the brake line. Got it out, the rubber seals are shot but the pistons look ok. How do I remove tge piston from the caliper and where can I get the rubber seals for the pistons?
Does Wilwood rebuild them?
Thanks
like everything sold by ComTac…they are Chinese or Greece mfg, OEM pads are either made by Wilwood or Carlisle brake and friction.I just called ComTac about their REV brake pads and rotors. Dude on the phone said they are not cleared to sell these pads/rotors to the US armed forces, but they do sell to other countries who use US made equipment (Humvees) and also sell to the Defense Industry. IDK if that helps anyone.
Well going with Comtac Id save about $300 on my front rotors and pads all around. I was/am a bit suspectlike everything sold by ComTac…they are Chinese or Greece mfg, OEM pads are either made by Wilwood or Carlisle brake and friction.
Going cheap on the very items that stop your truck is not one I skimp on, also….for shop owners, it’s a liability thing.Well going with Comtac Id save about $300 on my front rotors and pads all around. I was/am a bit suspect
Yea no Chinese junk for me.Going cheap on the very items that stop your truck is not one I skimp on, also….for shop owners, it’s a liability thing.
just did a full rev brake job yesterday, to include new calipers, the Wilwood have an issue with pistons locking up, an Issue I don’t see with the older ECV brake caliper
