Won a truck from them and got the release but for the life of me can't figure out how to apply for the SF-97, They have not responded to my inquiry on it and I find no place on their website to apply for it. It was not sold as Salvage or scrap so I should be able to get one no ? Anyone deal with GSA ?

Ditto to what Warthog said. Only problem with that is it doesn't give you a chance to correct the 97 if it is wrong. But I've had 100% luck with getting them corrected. GSA is so nice to work with. What did you pick up?

GSA is such a pleasure to deal with in comparison to the other 2 resellers. SF97 is always in your name so make sure it's right in your GSA profile.

Just out of curiosity does GSA issue the SF97 directly in the buyers name?
Yes they do or at least on all MV I have bought from them. If you need to make changes you contact the,
[h=2]For inquiries/questions regarding contractual issues, contact the following sales contracting officer/property disposal specialist:[/h]That was listed on the auction page it vary by location of the sale.

That is why I have a hard time understanding the big issue with letting us do the same thing. I know technically GSA is a government agency selling direct without a contract per say. We are working on it...

Yes it is.
I bought a truck 2 weeks ago from them :)
The longest it's ever taken to get a sf97 from them has been 8 calendar days !!!

First post,

I have been reading the GSA SF97 threads and feel a bit confused, can someone clear up if the GSA folks will send my SF97 forms directly to me or to the person in charge at the physical selling location. What is the current wait times and can I pick the vehicles up with the reciept and authority to release property ?? I purchased a car and truck on 4/1/2016 Thanks

Doug...

They will mail it to you, call the custodian at the site where you won them at for pick up and how long it can be there. Your receipt an appointment time is all you need.

Pretty much what mwmules said, as for time frame to receive it (sf-97), I've gotten them in as little as 3 days after auction, and as long as 10 days after auction.
Too bad some of the other places can't do that !

SF-97 isn't required to pick up, only payment receipt.
Just make sure pick up location has receipt of payment.
Ive bought a lot of stuff thru GSA over the years & only had one bad experience.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, I will call Monday to go get a time slot to pick up. Fortunately only 25 miles away. A week to 10 days seems reasonable for sure.

They did for me and corrected the mistake they made when I sent it back.
Hello, Can anyone give me an address/number for GSA? I purchased a M1022 Dolly from GovPlanet, paid them an extra $350 for the "full title" package. Two months later, I got a call today from GovPlanet claiming they're "refunding my $350 titling funds because the GSA won't issue form SF97 for a dolly??? Without it, it's scrap! I paid $750, $250 for 3x6 tubing to extend it for standard and high cubes, $200 in bolts to make new pins, $150 for 2 new air springs, hundreds in upgrades to the tow vehicle. To get a call saying sorry it's all scrap! Does anyone please have a contact? Thankyou!!!
I will never buy anything from Richie Brothers again! Just a phone call and "I'm sorry!" Nothing in writing stating who refused the form SF97 so I can follow up with legal action! This is nuts!

Does it have a data plate with serial number?

If so, register in Maine. They require no titles on trailers and you can be out of state.
Thank you!! I'll have to look into that. The vin is a 4 digit vin. I still haven't heard anything from GovPlanet. I requested a call from a supervisor. I'd like something in writing saying the GSA refused a SF97 and why. Something in writing is actionable. Can't go to court with; "some guy called me and said..." I guess I'll have to write GovPlanet? They sold me a unit with the option of getting me a title; then called me with a "sorry." If I had a statement from GovPlanet I could write my congressman for help with the GSA...

I do like the Maine plate option! Long time plate... NYS states you do not need a plate for a "Dolly". I'm sure they mean a car dolly, but the Gichner M1022 is a "dolly". I'd hate to have to go to court every time a cop disagrees...

all my trailers (6) are registered in Maine. No one has ever questioned and Cops could care less. Now, I am not in the Northeast and do not need to deal with the extreme BS that I hear NY and PA have with law enforcement selective enforcement of out of state trailers.

Heck down here in the banana republic lights, chains, even tires seem to be optional.....

Yup! NY does require their serfs to register your vehicles/trailers in NY. But in my defense NY refused to register it. DMV said it's military equipment, not meant for civilian use, despite the fact it's a trailer/dolly that has HD wheel bearings, HD tires, HD brakes, lights, 100% road worthy with every thing that's required by law... I argued the military is allowed to drag it up and down the highway but I can't. The DMV idiot said "yes." I said that's the definition of tyranny, the Idiot said "yup!" That was a supervisor!! Shut up serf before I send the police to beat you! He didn't say that, but he may as well have.
