if I was a comedy kind of mechanic (not sure if the name mel brooks would be familiar to you? that sort of laughters either way) I would have had maybe said "ah to heck with it lets just grind it till it fits!"

anyway back to reality..sorry about the order mixup, hope you'll get your correct rings soon as to be able to get the tires moving on with

I gave up on running HEMMT wheels tubeless. Leaks all the time.

I cut a slot in the wheels, and run flaps & tubes.

Haven't needed air in over 4 years now.

Honestly the wheels have been awesome, holding air without issue. The key is clean beads, new valve stems and new o-rings in the correct diameter.

The power divider oil tank had a hole in it. That may be what took this truck out of service. Some cutting and welding should solve this problem. Going to just shorten the tank since I will not be using the water pump, should not need 10 gallons of oil for just driveline operation.

Copy that on your wheels. When I started running that wheel/tire type 40 years ago, those parts were unobtanium, but 14.00's were everywhere and cheap thanks to the sandbox operations.

I pushed my M54A1 hard on long road trips of over 2K miles back then, and a constant worry about air was not worth it. Luckily, no flats on any of those trips built a lot of "mission ready" confidence, such that I accrued over 22,000 mi from date of form 97.

140 gal of Diesel on board gave me just under 900 road miles at 59mph. The Mack motor yields 7mpg, more or less.

Being 72 now (WTF happened to me), I'm not doing those runs anymore, but she gets used all the time locally.
