Does anyone know the size of the machine screws used to hold the control panel cover on?

My eyes are crossed after looking at the TMs. I checked old threads and came up dry. My 802a has a mishmash of screws holding the panels on. I have used some stainless machine screws and nuts but I am ocd so I want to replace this mess with something uniform. I'm thinking 5/32 ? I will by the nice nuts with the built in lock washer too.

FWIW: I used a few 5/8" SS 10-32s in places where there are overlapping panels. Might not be 100% by the manual, but mine came with a few there to begin with, and the extra few threads certainly helped me with some of the ones that don't have great access.

All the best, 2PbFeet

Yeah, I have done the same, at least on the ones I've had to remove. There were even a couple of 3/4" ones through double panels. Drives me crazy!

Look up the screw you want in the -24P. Then go to the description. The last entry to the far right of the PART NUMBER/NSN that you want, is how many TOTAL you need in the entire gen set. The number to the left of the total, is how many you need to replace in the outer skin of the set. So according to Kurts suggestion, you need 102 of that screw to put the outside of the set together. And a total of 293 TOTAL, to replace every one in the entire gen set.

Thanks Guy. That's a lot of screws! I ordered 50 nuts and 50 bolts and will do around the outside of the covers. If these are as good as I hope they are, I'll probably order 50 more of each. I also noticed a few missing here are there.
