60,000 BTU heater in M1079

seeking advice as this beasty heater.

setting it up for use in a large tent/garage- LME. Will partner as main heater along old 1950's Coleman home oil heater ..... and if needed 3 other Military Hunter heaters assisting. Few threads in here today are first Ive heard this has to be hooked to non truck electrical source also. Is it 110v or 220v?

Any suggestion on pump rate to get fuel to it? (GPH?)

any other ideas and thoughts beside wear ear protection cause is a Rocket sound emitting device. Is the exhaust flue smoke/air flow powerful enough to push that out a stack further away than the thin wall it went thru on an M1079 or will I need an exhaust fan to aid that to exit if its like 3ft from heater to wall?

It still sounds like a jet engine? Mine is so loud I can't hear the TV when it's running. If I can get mine sorted out, I may keep it (but it's going to take a ton of soundproofing).

you think the loudness of it is more combustion than the heat distribution fan orrr???

Does anyone know if the distribution fan also is likely part of what pulls air in for combustion purposes? ??

Well it uses a “carburetor” so I suspect a small low pressure oscillating electric diesel pump(auto parts store) may work… Maybe… it might even work with gravity feed. Not sure never played with one and I didn’t see any specs on fuel pressure in the manual…

it uses 2 separate blowers. One for combustion and one for circulating air thru the heat exchanger. That one looks like a cross between a fan blade and a blower impeller(probably louder than your average bath fan). The combustion blower looks like a shop vac turbine impeller, which is probably where a lot of the noise comes from…

It's loud due to all of the above.

Both the blowers (for the burner feed and air circulation) and the fact that it's ducted in a small aluminum structure to amplify it even more.
Keep in mid the blowers run even when the thing is in cool-down mode. Then they all cycle back up with each cycle (heat/cool off/heat/cool off).
IMO, it's likely the circulation blower (and it's echo chamber ducting) that make it an unbearable choice for the hab.

Should work fine for a garage environment (that's where mine will 3ventually go). But perhaps not ideal if the people need to hear themselves talk inside.

Yes, it's 110v system.

The fuel pump is 12v (24v) ? and just a generic little low-pressure pump, as Ron said.

And yes, you'll want to add a fan to vent the exhaust IMO (or run a stack up above your garage)
