I created, 'sort of', a free project to remotely control my generator using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. Details of everything will be at the Github pages dedicated to this project.
Future additions
- RaspberryPi Zero 2W (or similar product) - connects to your wifi OR acts as an AP
- I2C 4-channel stackable relay hat - relays to control four position switch used to start generator and enable AC delivery
- LM2596 DC-DC Buck Converter Step Down Power Supply 1.25V-30V 3A - uses the generators battery to power Raspberry Pi and relays
- code for Raspberry Pi
Future additions
- Relay hat of my own design, to include sensors for oil pressure, engine temp, ambient air temperature, fuel level, voltage load, etc.
- board design is loosely based on this Instructable
- KiCad board
- RFM69HCW for wireless communication with inverter to remotely control generator.
- Instructions on how to connect everything will be at Github repository
