M-35 Cab to M-54 Swap.

Anyone on SS attempted the swap?? Can anyone tell me if the pedals are the same?? I am sure the linkage is different though when it comes to lengith.

I am going to make a attempt to build up my cab over the winter.

The M35 Duece cab and M39 Series 5 ton use the same cab !! as well as the M809 series 5 Ton use the same cab !! The M939 has a totally different cab !! so it should work for you !! As you thought there might be a slight difference in the pedal arragement under the cab but still should work for you !!

The steering shaft hole is different between the deuce and 5 ton. other then that its a bolt in. The cab will have both Knock outs in the fire wall. will just have to patch one up.

I already knew this..............hense why I bought a cab that was local off a deuce.

Believe that this was the only difference and thats ok with me. I was hoping that when I did this, I was going to have both cabs sitting together to do the swap but time has not been on my side to pull the M-54 cab so i am going to do it in the blind and prep the deuce cab as far as I can during the winter. I figure that I should start it now as its not doing any good where its at for the last 5 yrs that I have owned it. With my little girl due in Jan, I figure I better get my butt in gear and get some of this stuff done.

My soon to be home M54A2 supposedly has a M35A2 cab on it. Its not here right now but should be next month. I can compare it to my parts M54A2 and see if there are any differences when it gets here.

The only difference is the steering shaft placement. The NSN is the same for all of them. I have been there done the swap with a new NOS cab in a box. There all the same.

OUTSTANDING, then I will clean it up for whats already on it and wire it up with the new harness and canvas and my collection of NOS gages.

I love this kind of work. Could you post some pics as you go? Are you working outside?

Yea I can post a few pics when i get going. The cab will be built up over the winter inside but the removal of the old and install will be outside and that will not be until the spring of 2012
