    The next Project an ASMH

I ordered a FP rebuild kit from Then And Now in Mas. Did that on Friday afternoon, 1400 here, that would be 1700 there. The owner answered the phone and took the order. It was here on Monday! I have to say, every time we use them, they blow me away with their service. I had pulled the FP last...

    The next Project an ASMH

Yup. Made some progress yesterday. The fuel filter can is brass! Got that all cleaned out with the help of Evaporust as well as the filter and had to disassemble the draincock on the filter because it was stuck. The gasket for the can is paper, not a rubber seal like on a multi, it looks good so...

    Simp's M915A1 Build Thread

891 CPL was ReCon's rebuild of the 614 CPL MVT 400. They were good runners. ReCon re-engineered the new CPL to not have the variable timing and they were able to do that by NOT being the original engine mfgr. They were a rebuilder, even though they are a Cummins owned entity, so they went...

    The next Project an ASMH

I think it is a '57. The engine was a depot ovh in "77 and there are tags for "corrosion proofing" from "84. The paint is peeling but under the peel is a nice SG Olive drab! There are also spots of red under some parts of the peeling paint on the wrecker bed. I'll post more pics of it a bit...

    The next Project an ASMH

You are correct about the carb. The linkage was frozen and things weren't right in things attached to the linkage. The accelerator pump was also stuck. I was able to lube things up and get the linkage working but the operation was a bit wanky, it would stick when depressing the pedal sometimes...

    The next Project an ASMH

Here are som pics of the beast. I forget how tall they are! M62. The R6602 was rebuilt in 77 at TEAD, the truck looks to be corrosion proofed in 1984. Looks like it has a "normal" power steering set up. I see the fittings. Yeah, different than normal. Went over things, oil, coolant, checked...

    The next Project an ASMH

Didn't know about the fittings. I think we'll get it running in place, move to the shop and go from there. We talk about hyd hoses, would HATE to have one fail in process of a lift. I will keep you in mind, we do have a competent hose/fitting place out this way that served me well in my life at...

    The next Project an ASMH

Not worried about shoulders, the neck is what messes with me since surgery, that, and since the neck stuff, I ain't as strong as I used to be.. Getting it up and going in place MIGHT be fairly easy since it was de-fueled and was running off of a pony tank. I do know brakes will be non existent...

    The next Project an ASMH

OK, tomorrow we are gonna start trying to get the wrecker into the shop area. I am not familiar with these. Big 'ol gasser under the hood. The plan was to pull it out of it's spot, just enough to get behind it, and push it into the shop area, which involves a tight right and dog leg, down about...

    Deuce Fan mod/ upgrade

It turns the same way as the engine turns. D-Max fan turns opposite engine rotation.

That would be too far of a climb and step down. I'll crash in a tent!

Miller light, PBR, steering away from the silver bullet. Stopped with the BL a few years ago, before the he/she fiasco.

If you noticed, I replied to NDT's comment first...Follow directions....you do have a tendency to veer off into leftist field :ROFLMAO:

    The next Project an ASMH

I'm up for that! Let me see if I can persuade "Fearless Leader" into that! That would involve coordination....I think I still have those skills. Ohh, maybe a BBQ food fest!

    The next Project an ASMH

We have chatted about that too. There needs to be a coordinated effort to get 5 people there that are competent, you know, older people, that can follow directions, listen to others and stay off their phones. You will be tapped for it! Come load batteries in the M60, I am in need of help when...

    The next Project an ASMH

The next item we need to pay some attention to is something that we can use to pick a load of 8800 lbs....hopefully not, but, it would be nice to have it up and operating. IIRC, I will give the data plates a gander and some pictures, is an M62 wrecker. I know it ran when parked, was ran out of...

    Huey, UH1M

OK, here is another update on the HU1-M. Over the past month or so, it has been VERY hot and humid here. A coat was put down on itbut the heat and humidity weren't good for painting. The parts that were painted off the air frame came out good. Some of the volunteers gave the not so good paint a...

    Huey, UH1M

FOUND IT!!!! Well, not me, but another volunteer at the Museum. He was a tanker, M60s then M1 and A1. 307th Attack Helicopter Battalion! Now that I see the patch, I can see the wings on the artwork on the nose!
