    MEP803A heater

Before bidding there are a few things I look for in pictures from GL, GP, etc.: 1) Look for a picture that shows the event & lot numbers (often the last picture) 2) Look for a picture of the data plate (includes the serial number) 3) Look for a picture of the hour meter Check any numbers in the...

Has anyone put casters on their 802 or 803?

I've also had good luck using a pair of rubber expansion joints for concrete. I put one under each skid rail. They're currently about $3 a piece at the local box store...

    Just picked up a 2009 MEP-803A

If it's cold, you might want to pre-heat for a good 30-60 seconds.

    Adding a 240V 30A outlet to an 802A

I see what you mean, Guyfang. The picture below shows a pair of 802's on a trailer, both of which are tied into a switch box. The 802 on the right side of the picture has the power cable coming through the cover with the hole in it like you mentioned.

    Adding a 240V 30A outlet to an 802A

For the past several months I've been on the lookout for some extra outlets that could be added to a MEP-802A or MEP-803A easily and seamlessly. Recently, I came across a watertight L14-30 twist lock receptacle (Hubbell HBL2710SW) that was a close match to the cover above the right rear tie-down...

    MEP-831a will not start.

Sounds like an electrical problem. Start with the easy stuff: One 12v battery isn't enough by itself. Assuming you're using a pair of 12v batteries in series, are they both charged? Are all battery cables getting a good connection. Make sure the big red emergency stop switch pulled out. Make...

    MEP-831A - battery tray & tie down

Ended up finding a pair of 20HL AGM batteries on sale. The local Advance Auto Parts store had a universal battery hold down that fit over the pair of batteries. It came with a small bracket that worked for the left side, and it had plenty of holes on the right side to facilitate a pair of...

    MEP-831A - battery tray & tie down

I recently picked up an 831 that is missing the battery and some related items. I've read about guys using a pair of commonly available motorcycle batteries in series instead of the stock 24v battery. I'm curious if anyone has had luck sourcing or improvising the battery tray and tie down bracket.

RV hook up to a MEP-803a

I wired an outdoor 50 amp RV panel to my 803. The panel I used had 3 outlets on it, each on a dedicated breaker. There was a 14-50R (50a 240v 4-wire), a 5-20R (duplex 20a 120v GFI), and a TT-30R (30a 120v camper plug). Seems like it was an Eaton CHU1N9N4NS or similar that came from the...

    MEP802 - Got a shaker.

Thanks guys, that's really encouraging. At the moment the 802 is sitting on a wooden dolly and casters that I originally threw together to move the 803 around. Perhaps there's enough flex in the 2x6's that it's exaggerating the shaking. I think I'll set it directly on the concrete during the...

    MEP802 - Got a shaker.

Did you ever get your shaker to settle down? I recently picked up an 802 built in 2006 with original 18.5 hours, and it shakes so much I suspect that's the reason it was put up for auction. I got a good price and it holds 7000w resistive just fine, but the way it shakes makes me doubt its...

Lockbourne, OH to Sioux Falls, SD

I recently won a pallet of 20 slide hammers in Lockbourne, OH. These are the kind used to drive grounding rods. I'm looking for someone to pick them up and help get them to Sioux Falls, SD (or at least part way here: MN, IA, NE, etc.) I was originally intending to recover these myself, but...
