mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

I am producing power 130vac at breaker box. Thank you guys again for your help. Would be in the dark without you. Now I am going to start on an 8kw with antifreeze in the oil pan. Thanks again. Mike

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Thanks for the confidence booster but I think there is a long row to hoe to get even close to the knowledge you guys have. I do enjoy learning though. Board is in relay box, will install box and check F1 and F2 in the morning. If there is nothing else to test before start up I'll try it tomorrow...

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

A5 tested good using TM. Soldered traces with a solid copper 20-22 ga. wire. Reinstall?

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Got it. Internet is spotty. Having trouble connecting, if you don't hear back quickly. Thanks, Mike

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Started to do test and in reading the procedure some of it includes #2 and #15 terminals. These are the ones the traces are burnt. Should I just do a partial test or solder a wire to replace burnt traces? Is test done with A5 out of relay box and unwired or with box hooked to gen set as it would...

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Can I download the TM to a zip drive and have it printed? Don't have service where gen set is, have to go back and forth from computer to generator. I have a manual TM9-6115-464-12 is this sufficient?

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

I remember the switch terminal coming off and replacing the switch, my memory of the events that followed the switch were buying the aftermarket AVDR and not being able to get it to work. You contacted me and walked me through the process of building the ugly but functional circuit board on a...

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Checked S9 by the TM, it matches the diagram for what is open and closed. Removed A5 and board has 2 traces burnt on the backside. This relay box has been changed it looks new inside as compared to what the A11 did. Took some pics but don't know how to post them to the forum. Where do I go from...

No formal training on schematics other than school of hard knocks, will start checking in the morning. Thank you guys for info.

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Peter, I had high hopes this could be fixed simply, and I wouldn't have to bother you again. Looks like you are involved and Thank You from the start, your knowledge amazes me (and I am sure others). I have some time off from work (broken shoulder) and would like to fix the generator if I can. I...

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

Started from S1 held up counted to 10 released and have what I described. Checked for DC at F1 F2 with S1 held up no voltage. DC is working 28v at circuit breaker above F1 F2. Had VR rebuilt and tested by Inova.

mep004 reads 0 phase to phase 480 phase to ground

No output voltage, contactor closed , no gauges other than engine gauges work, test lights won't work. No DC at F1 F2. DC 28v at circuit breaker. Don't think it is exciting fields. Any ideas?

Mep004 circuit to replace faulty voltage regulator. This was designed by member peapvp for use until he could rebuild and update the operating l.

I have lived by the old saying "chrome don't get you home" and I agree with Peter it isn't pretty, but it does work flawlessly. I used this setup for approx. 12-15 hours for back-up. Storms and living in the woods doesn't always keep the lights on. I tried to go back and see the cost of parts...
