Does this heater core look bad?

Yeah I am not getting rid of it but I hope it solves my issue. I got a new one in and I am about to drive it. Things definitely are not made like they used to

Does this heater core look bad?

Yeah I was thinking that to. I mean they don't cost a whole lot. Here is the bottom I just saw to. Possible leak??

Does this heater core look bad?

Hey guys I was wondering if you all think this heater core looks bad? I pulled it about ten minutes ago as a last resort for my coolant issue I have been having. I replaced my radiator also that I had laying around with no change. Basically the issue I had been having is that my coolant...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

If what I did lastnight doesn't solve the issue I am in total agreement with you on the cracked head and head gasket

    CUCV Coolant Issue

So a quick update. I put a new overflow hose on late lastnight and filled the radiator all the way up and put the overflow at cold full. I just checked it and the radiator level is were I left it lastnight and it's only about an inch above cold full. I am hoping and it's looking like that...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Yeah if tomorrow I walk out again and the fluid level is high in the overflow that's were I am leaning. I put a new overflow line on it and refuse to look at the level tonight as it's frustrating.

    CUCV Coolant Issue

I am thinking of putting a new overflow hose on the truck with new clamps

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Do you have any other ideas why it might be doing this? I tried it the other way to and lastnight it still pushed it into the overflow and stayed. It's weird though because if I don't drive it buy rev it till the thermostat opens a few hours later when it's cool it goes back down. But if I...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Yeah after fixing the one leak I filled it up and once again I let it cool for a couple of hours and it's still a little high but I am hoping it comes down.

    CUCV Coolant Issue

So I am out here messing with the truck and low and behold when I walked up to it I saw a new tiny quarter size spot in the driveway. This spot was on the frame below the heater core lines. The clamp on the top line appeared to be slightly loose. So I have tightened everything down filled her...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Well then maybe it is some other issue then. I noticed yesterday after doing what the other member suggested that it was for the first time pulling coolant from the resivor back into the radiator which it was not doing before. Now I haven't checked it this morning but coming home lastnight...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Ok makes alot of sense. It's a very simple design and I was over thinking it. I am really glad it wasn't a head gasket issue. This is my favorite truck and I drive it everyday.

    CUCV Coolant Issue

I really appreciate all the information. So I went out and cold filled the radiator just above the heater core line (few inches below top) and drained the overflow tank to cold full and ran her up to temp. I noticed this time I had heat getting warmer the entire time and the thermostat opened...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Lol I guess I for some reason wasn't thinking when doing that. I saw the hole for the overflow when I had the radiator cap and told myself you shouldn't see fins in the radiator but then again when it expands it's gotta go somewhere like you are saying. So should I fill the radiator just a...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Yes the upper radiator hose gets pretty hard I won't lie like almost to much. I will check the cap and maybe get some pictures of the current amount in both. So your saying probably leave what's currently in the radiator and just fill the overflow till cold full and check it everyday till it...

    CUCV Coolant Issue

Ok I do have a replacement radiator. I had it because I knew they were hard to find in case one went bad. Maybe I can flush this one or just try replacing it.

    CUCV Coolant Issue

I forgot to mention this is my second new cap. I put a nice new locking one on the other day. I believe the pressure is 15 or 16 and the cap is 16 psi. You think it's possible I am filling it up to much ?
