Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

You're welcome. I thought I did pretty well for working outside and doing it alone. I managed to do it without too much gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands. I just don't want to do it again anytime soon.

I love Hueys......I'd rather fly in a Huey than make tricycle motors.

A4 is the bumper number on the M927. Truck 4 from A Company. It came from the FL National Guard. Deuce-Coupe was the assigned driver when he was stationed at Camp Blanding, FL. If I had known he was bidding on the truck I would have bowed out.

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

Since I'm trying to raise some money to produce a movie she is on the block.....hate to sell her. She is by far the best truck I ever got from GL. I actually hope the new truck sells first and maybe I can keep the M927......but money talks and bull.....................

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

I have a log splitter but it was down in the storage building. I just needed some lighter pine to start fires with so I took the trusty axe and had at it. Something in the lower back said "ouch" and that was that. Nothing that time and some muscle relaxer won't take care.

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

So far it is in the diamond catagory. I drove it around the property yesterday and all systems seemed to be go. Tranny shifts out, engine purrs, brakes work fine. One tire needs a valve stem replaced. I tore my back out of the frame yesterday chopping some lighter pine so I'm not much in the...

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

It was all the Dakota wanted that was for sure. I could almost hear a sigh of relief when I unloaded the axle. Now I have to haul the old axle back to Derek as part of the deal. I'm sure the Dodge isn't looking forward to it.

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

Let's just say I've had all the axle swapping I can enjoy for a while. My big concern was that once I got the axle under the truck the top heavy SOB would roll either foward or backward. To thwart Murphy I chained it front and back and left enough slack so I could inch it forward into position...

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

The mission was completed today. Got all the air lines hooked back up and everything adjusted. Took her for a short bumpy ride to seat the axle and make sure nothing is loose. Tomorrow I'll take her on a short road trip to see how she behaves on the hardball. here are some more pics.

Once I do some cosmetic work on her she will be pimped out so I can buy something else. I also have the M927 on the block. I got the itch for a HET but I don't have the scratch.

Ax(le) me no questions and I'll tell you no lies

Some of you might remember that I recently bought an M923A2 from GL Hotlanta. It came (at no extra charge) with severe forklift damage to the rear axle and brake chambers. It had been drained of all fluids, the batteries had been removed and it had some slight rust issues but all in...
