Haha.
She's definitely a crazy redneck chick. We are usually in my truck playing in the puddles and back roads or in Polaris rzr hitting the trails. She's definitely not a city girl and that's why I like her. She has been asking when will I get this engine in so we can go romp it in the mud haha.
It will work out fine if I can get it done lol.
I get a day to work on it and instead go see my girlfriend who is begging me to come visit. So next day I work on the truck and get a bunch done. Go to start working on it today and had to go do some stuff for my grandpa and ended up visiting with...
That was my original plan but the more I look at those manifolds the less I like them and also got to really looking at them and the welds are cracked on just about every tube. I think in the long run I will be happier with the new iron manifolds.
Far as emissions testing there isn't anything...
Here are the pics of the manifold.
The other night I pulled the old intake to see what ports the head have. It's an oval port block so I can now order my Intake I need. I'm putting an edelbrock aluminum one on.
I went with carb because of the simplicity of the system no electronics and also I don't really have the time or funding to be doing a big efi set up right now. I am trying to get the truck ready for GA rally.
The stock manifolds it had where full of these ports and crap for the emissions junk...
This was I know they will bolt up and clear everything and they won't be scrap in a year of hard use. I run my truck hard so I don't have time for parts that dont hold up.
That's kinda what I figured, lmc showed one cable but rock auto showed 2 and they where different lengths. Guess I'll go to Napa. They are usually better than anywhere else anyway, I usually buy parts from them and nowhere else.
This is the coach im pulling the engine from and how it currently sets. Engine should be ut and on the ground by lunch time tomorrow. I have the exhaust, hoses, linkages, and everything loss from the engine and transmission. just a couple wires left and out it will come. should start to install...
Thank you guys for all this information.
The coach is based on a P30 so it does have a carburetor and th400 transmission. I will be throwing a lot of stuff in the trash on this engine. Going to put an edelbrock performer intake and 750 carburetor on it. Maybe some headers and new better looking...
Thanks for the info guys.
I will have to convert to electronic fuel pump I'm 99% sure. He said something about it had a in tank fuel pump. I looked at the engine a little bit yesterday and I seen a far amount I'd change. It's headers, carburetor, dipstick tube for a pick up, and a lot of junk...
The 454 runs, just might need a new carb it pulls it's self just the body is all the poo.
Dont know for certain If the coach has hydro boost or not.
My Uncle ended up with the thing and is going to part it out since most of the body is rotted but the drivetrain and genset it had was good.
On...
Thanks for the info guys.
I was starting to think y'all didn't like me anymore haha.
I'm seriously thinking about doing the swap if it looks like the 6.2 won't be ga rally ready.
