thank you for sharing your knowledge thats good to hear that I can adapt it to it.
I should have clarified the 3406 is for another project but it would be a cool project to get it in one of these military rigs
I love a challenge and having something unique so it sounds I need to make...
hey guys
Has anyone swapped in a Cummins in a 710? Im guessing the 5.9 is too big but how about the 4bt?
Does anyone have the dimensions of engine compartment ?
I sent him an email but I havent heard a response
Has anyone swapped the M37 body onto a newer frame such as a 1st or 2nd generation dodge 2500 with a cummins?
hey guys I am looking to do a offroad / expedition build on a 1953 M-37 with a 12v or 24v 5.9 Cummins and I need some guidance from the experienced and wiser people
1. Will either a 12v or 24v fit in the engine compartment?
2. Can I squeeze a NV4500 or NV5600 in?
3. What transfer case...
I dont have any first hand experience bringing one into the country but I know It is street legal in the USA. I have seen one before cruising around but wasnt able to talk to him. Those trucks use ZF transmissions and Duetz Diesel engines which have a dealer network throughout the US...
I will be using it for a little offroading, driving through the snow and pulling my trailers.
The Cummins 8.3L is 250-300hp stock so it seems like it would take a lot of work to get it to 500-550hp
vs a CAT 3406 or a N14 I get stock with 550-600hp and then put a 10 or 13 speed transmission...
I figured there wasnt much you can do to up the power on these motors but wanted to make sure
The Cummins 8.3 is also a fairly low hp engine I dont think its worthwhile for me to put one in.
Will a Cummins N14 or Cat 3406 fit in the engine compartment?
Hi guys
I am looking at buying a 1984 AM General M931 it has the 855 Cummins naturally aspirated I believe. ( I haven't looked at it in person yet)
Is it possible to add a turbo to this motor? ( how easy is it to do and what kind of cost would I be looking at?)
What other power upgrades...
