Maybe this allison is different but dont usually torque converters that lock up are only for final gear ratio. My trans has no issues what so ever on up shifts and down shifts are all good except the 3rd to 2nd downshift. I would have to assume that TQ lock ups would not only be for a 3rd...
C and D show 60.25 OHMs.. Maybe a bad TCM?? , anyone have a tcm I can swap out and return for testing? They are on ebay for 800 or so. Dont mind spending it if it fixs it, but will loose sleep over it if it doesnt fix it.
By the way the trans originally was shifting so hard it would cherp...
I have been through all the connections on transmission , inside kick panel disconnected reconnected ecu, looked inside ecu no corrosion, and front of truck connections, Keep getting code D1-6600 . Down shifts are pretty hard when I let off the gas all the way. 6600 is coming up as a serial...
Just wanted to post, what a weird problem this was.
Pulled the trans to fix the TQ leak and noticed cut up rubber between the input shaft and stator shaft, tore the front of the trans apart and cant find any missing seals. Allison sent me a schematic and still cant find any seals in that area...
2001 M1078 with an Allison 3070. I had a real bad leak inside the bellhousing pretty much pouring out. Lost a gallon of fluid on the way home. I called Allison and got a new input shaft seal. Replaced the front input shaft seal, reinstalled the trans and still leaking the same didnt make any...
Found a company that has a performance box that plugs between the ECU and the wiring harness, Its made by AG Diesel solutions, just curious if anyone has tried it before. I tried calling the company to get info but keep getting women in the tech department who sound like they are reading a text...
I did what General Disorder recommended and cut the wire ends off and rewired it together. After doing this the engine runs and no ABS light anymore.
Interesting that it would run and still give me an ABS light with old harness but cutting it out fixed both issues. I did notice that the wire...
Thanks for the photos, So I dont have the box anymore but I do have the jumper wire. I unscrewed the jumper wires and ohm tested them, The jumper wire is good. Its maybe only about 6 inchs long. Reinstalled it and the ABS light went out and truck started. ABS came back on about 1 min later...
Not sure what jumper harness your talking about. I have two triangle connections and then two wires with black grommets and red plastic clips to keep from coming apart and traced one of those to the bottom of fuel filter. Says P39 other says P33. Also just found a wiring harness in there with...
CB 42 has power, if I pull it the dash lights go off. How do I check power at the ECM, schematic here shows a power wire but my wires are not numbered
Did notice that when you turn on the power switch the ABS attempts to turn on for a second then shuts off
2001 M1078 3126B
Had the truck at work today and had been driving it off and on all day. Went to go home got up to about 40mph and the ABS light came on and the engine died like someone shut it off, costed off the road and it cranks but wont start. All the fuses are good, swapted some...
At a stop just press MODE then arrow down into 2nd gear. Hit the gas and go and up arrow to shift. I can shift up to 5. Cant up arrow past 5th gear, maybe this is normal, I dont know. If I stop and just press D it will automatically shift through all gears , I just didnt think 6 and 7 hit as...
Just making conversation but I just added A/C to my LMTV and you can get an evaporator for a BUS off of ebay which has the housing and blower motor, just remove the housing and fan and use the evap/heater core with expansion valve(all one piece) fits directly in the stock location of your LMTV...
Bought a 2001 LMTV with a 3126 and allison MD3070 transmission. I have two questions. My front seal is leaking in the transmission assuming the input shaft for the torque converter. The only issue is that it puddles on the ground as a white/pink foam. Not sure its water or just foaming up from...
In addition to that, if the water is not kept in the motor by the thermostat, it cannot carry away the heat the motor makes.
I agree with Jason completely false. Im an ASE certifed mechanic , I live in Florida , and have yet to ever see one vehical overheat due to not having a thermostat.
