help with starting without Starting fluid.

Hey Sheldon, I get a Glen Quagmire "GIGITTY" whenever a text message comes in!

UH-OH! Don't you mean "bazinga"? I guess were gonna have to call you "Sheldon" from now on!

As long as it doesn't die, I would let it "hunt". That way you know the gov. is working some kinks out. I didn't say you "don't have to tear back into it". I said you might not. :gimp:rofl

Crazy, you said the motor "hunted" between 400rpm and 800rpm. That reving up and down is what I was calling "hunting". If the truck starts easy, it sounds like you got it right. I would drive it a bit and see if the hunting clears up. If it pings or doesn't have any power compared to before...

Nah, the engine hunting is not something you have messed up. I would run clean fuel through it for a week and see if it clears up. My truck that sat in a bone-yard hunted for a week after I got it running again. It cleared up and has been fine ever since. You said there was some nasty fuel in...

OSHH=I'd swap the fdc first. Did you send me your addy yet? Welder, I forgot to mention you should have removed the injector lines and cranked the motor over to see if all injectors were getting fuel to them. It looks like one of those cut pool water shows at Vegas when they squirt up!

I told welder to call to talk about the work he is doing, but if you want to call too, thats ok. Just so you know, I don't get up early.8-):roll:

The fuel density compensator ONLY adjusts how much fuel is sent to the motor based on the BTU content in the fuel.

    Nope, still a multi!

#1 it can leak fuel into the motor's oil. #2 I'll tell you when we talk.

Funny Horst responded, That write up and pics were from the email I sent him so he could do his HH swap.

So your gonna want to pu the truck somewhere level. Block the wheels. Fuel and motor oil will drain out of the IP when doing this. Throw a tarp or crappy blanket down. Pull the injector lines. Pull the fuel lines. Open the "window" with 4 bolts just in front of the HH. Pull the fuel...

I think that is an excellent idear.

help with starting without Starting fluid.

I am not up to speed here so don't get mad, Martin, was this your truck? If the HH was replaced, there is a grove that lever needs to be in, if its not in the groove, that could be why it doesn't go all the way forward. Of the 12 pumps I have worked on and dozens of other pumps I have helped...

Looks like it moves ok, but I wonder why it doesn't go to the 7o'clock position. Try pushing it forward! With it not getting to 7, your not opening up all the wayy to get all the fuel.

help with starting without Starting fluid.

Ok, you will not get fuel out of the injector or the "hard lines" to the injector, till the motor is running. With out a pressure gauge, its worthless.

help with starting without Starting fluid.

You have some specifics that are lacking. The fuel leaves the tank and goes to the primary filter. Then it heads over to the booster pump at the bottom of the IP. Next it travels to the 2nd and final filter. Finally heading to the Hydro head. (yes it might go to the FDC, but if you have half a...

No, but they can run backward!

I usually open the passenger window and spray from there, but I do have the mushroom installed on a 90* pipe so it sticks above the hood.

    I wouldn't worry about just a puff.
