Sounds like you need heat in the back also.

    Heater

Just a side note, between the block heater and the arctic cover I fired the truck right up after sitting for a few days in below 32 degree weather and had good heat in less than 10 min. Drove approximately 8 miles round trip warm and happy.

Just a short video to illustrate the difference in fan speeds from low to high. Sorry for the crappy video it was done with my phone. The whole project is done and working so I will stop driving everyone nuts with my posting. Seriously I want to thank everyone for all of the ideas and...

Be careful using zip ties on a resistor that large they create a lot of heat. Mine saw 115 degrees Fahrenheit earlier today.

    Heater

Well here are the last of the pics. I finally figured out through trial and error where I wanted to and how I wanted to mount the resistor. It was all hardware parts and less than four dollars. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions. Oh and yes I do have a high and low that...

    Heater

I try not to brain storm it gives me a headache. Anyhow I love the idea I wonder how hard it will be to find the incorporate the parts to make a working unit. I definitely wouldn't mind trying to do it. Let the search for parts begin.

I would love to know where to get the kit so I can piece my defrosters in.

    Heater

That is exactly how mine is plumbed. It works extremely well I am very happy. The biggest thing is to seal up as many of the holes around the truck as possible.

    Heater

These heaters do not need a fresh air supply there re-circulate the cabin air. That is partly why they are so effective. As to where to tap into for hot water on your truck I am sorry but do not know. I attached another link as to where my heater came from. Good luck keep me updated on your...

    Heater

I don't see why one could not be adapted to a 5-ton similar layout as the deuce. Some of the things I didn't like about the diesel heater are probably the same as yours. Complexity of finding all of the correct parts that can be afforded, The fact that they take up more room and lastly hot...

    Heater

Yes, I think you could adapt one to work in a M715. As far heater duct goes, PVC is your friend. Let me know how it works.

    Heater

Not a problem - glad it helped. I'm working on a schematic and will get it posted as soon as possible. Yeah, I put in 2 ball valves to stop the coolant flow - I was hoping for the same effect. I'm not sure the defrosting will work. Keep me updated - good luck! I love the winter here - I'm...

    Heater

Temps today are in the teens - 18 was the high which is way behind us now and the wind is 30 mph steady with gusts up to 45 mph and so far I am staying warm.

I updated the post today with some links as to where my parts came from based on the amount of private messages I received. I hope it helps and feel free to ask any questions. I will answer as best as possible.

    Heater

Yes you will need a resistor to vary the speed. A 100 watt 4 ohm resistor wired to one side of a single pole two position toggle switch will give approximately 14 volts hence a low speed. Most any toggle switch rated for 12 volts and 10 amps will work fine as when you step up in voltage your...

Afterburners and the GE turbofan hidden in the back. Seriously the left one is the heater and the right one is for the back-up lights. I was fortunate enough to have had holes in the dash I was able to use.

    Heater

I am actually surprised at how well with the elbow angled down slightly the air circulates under the seat up the back and down the windshield. So far I am happy. Thanks to all for your comments.
