Only way that plays out is long term wear from ULSD not providing enough lubrication vs the old style diesel and JP8. Not as bad as a 1:1 TH400 aka 3L80 trans I bet a 700R4 or 4L80E swap would net 1.5-3 mpg better based on the fact they have a overdrive 4th gear and lock up on the converter, slip does not equal efficiency- Blackmagic94
