    Well, I finally resolved this problem but putting the headlights on relays. It seems the headlights were just too much draw with halogen bulbs.

    Still can't find a short and it does it so randomly that it's hard to chase down. can the circut boards be bought new ? I'm thinking maybe I should change that and see what happens ? I bought a set of KC's to put on the grill guard as backup. No fun driving home at night and the truck blacks...

    No this one was owned by the Manchester Police dept. it spend the last 20 yrs puling the D.A.R.E trailer and driving the cop to the range. it's in exceptionally good condition . I paid 1600$ for it at sealed bid auction. It drives nice . I have been using it since my Dodge died.
