    CUCV Dually

Hi, I think this may good thread to jump on...I have a M1028 with a single tire rear axle...just acquired from the USACE who put a flat bed on it and an EZ Dumper Dump insert...what kind of chore would it be to slap on extra rims and wheels to make it dual to better distribute loads for our...

VIN differences between M1008 and M1028?

CUCVFAN (Or anyone), talk to me about these RPO codes please, really old thread here I know, but I don't find much on RPO code decoding after an admittedly quick google and SS thread search...I know I've got an "H" code as 4th digit in the VIN on my newly acquired CUCV, so I know it's one of the...

Black button under steering column on 1985 D30 CUCV truck--What is it?

Sharecropper, thanks for the heads up. I don't think the 1985 had the quasistatistical regeneration parametric oscillator on the glow plugs yet so I doubt it could run the turbo encabulator without the card upgrade that cucvrus mentioned....which I will look into.

Black button under steering column on 1985 D30 CUCV truck--What is it?

Thanks Marcus, I'm not near the truck right now but as I read your note and several others on SS I'm now 99% sure that that is a manual glow plug momentary switch...it's interesting to me that the wait light still works without me having used the switch at all yet. (I've had the truck a week and...

Black button under steering column on 1985 D30 CUCV truck--What is it?

Well that could explain both: 1. The hard starting when not using the button...(I only used the wait light which may not be actually tied to any actual type of heat sensor as I had assumed)... and 2. The huge power draw when I pushed it because I know I was running on near dead batteries to...

Black button under steering column on 1985 D30 CUCV truck--What is it?

Thanks, I get a picture. Glad the ejections eat was disarmed. I've seen other pictures of other CUCVs that have the black button AND the two toggles you mention...mine does not have those toggles...a manual glow plug button is an interesting idea though.

Black button under steering column on 1985 D30 CUCV truck--What is it?

Anyone know: What is the black rubber button under the steering column (slightly to the left) on the 1985 CUCV truck? Pushed it while driving the truck and it seemed to momentarily kill all the power in the cab...kept running and driving though, thankfully...
