    NHC-250 turbo installed on M923A1

250's do not like heat. When you turn the fuel to them you have to know how to drive them. You do not want to keep your foot in the fuel on a hard pull. Back off the throttle and let it pull in a gear it's happy with. Even with a turbo and pyro you can get it hot before you know it.

    Strange Exhaust Arrangement 003A

I have seen those used with a remote exhaust setup where the genny was set up with a sandbag berm on three sides and the exhaust was routed up via flex tubing (I have a butt load of those tubes if anyone is interested) to send the exhaust gasses up. When it rained they just put cans on the pipes...

    M916 Auxilillary Hydraulics at Winch

I assume you know you will have to put a smaller sized 5th wheel on the M916 to pull most civy trailers.

    Power and smoke

I cut my teeth driving an aged International cabover with a 250 Cummins and a ten speed Roadranger transmission. I pulled a 45 foot drop deck Kentucky furniture van hauling new furniture. It was a poor way to make a living and I cursed every mile I put on that truck. The 250 is a dog and always...

    11.2 Miles Per Gallon in a M923A1?

Unless you know exactly how much fuel you used (as opposed to how much you put in it) and exactly how many miles you drove you are still estimating fuel mileage.

ETS DITY Move with M932 Fort Benning, GA. to Oregon

If you see the rear trailer wandering you can apply air with the hand valve (very slightly). If the brakes are adjusted properly where the brakes on the rear trailer are slightly tighter than the front trailer it will pull it's self back in line. If you are attempting to back them up and they...

Official 2013 SS Georgia Rally Info SSGR13 thread

I usually leave Wednesday morning in time to go through Hotlanta after morning traffic but before afternoon traffic. I you want to meet me in Alabama onI-20 and convoy over just let me know. Unless I score a 5 ton tractor or another M915 I'll be pulling the van trailer behind the M927 using a...

    Pintle size mis-match. Easy fix??

That is the same type tow dolly I used to pull my big trailer to the GA Rally last year. I didn't know that there was a size difference either so (due to very short time constraints) I used a 4 inch angle grinder and shaved the pintle hitch to make it work. You do not have to take much off since...

    Very Modified Deuce

Soooooo......is that a "Little Deuce Coupe"? That radiator looks pretty small for the Multi. It would have sounded a lot better with a whistler turbo on it. It does have a lot of character and I do have a couple of Multi's out in a trailer. Like I need another project.

I've searched and read, i still don't understand, HH trouble

Gimpy is a good troop. I don't care what everybody else says. Elmo says he denies everything and demands proof.

Legal Issues that could effect all MV Owners

I had zero trouble getting the M927 titled in Alabama. I took the SF-97 and drove the beast to the DMV. The little chubby girl that knows me well waited on me (she said she knew I had another truck and wanted to see it) and did the paperwork. We then went out to the truck and I boosted her up...

ETS DITY Move with M932 Fort Benning, GA. to Oregon

Several members on here have done something similar. Maybe some of the search gurus can pull them up. I pulled my 34 foot van trailer with my M927 to the GA Rally last year and I was 72 feet long. I don't remember how long a M925 is but you might be over length pulling a 53 footer on the 5th...

What kind of Driptroit are you installing? Inquiring minds want to know......and you know we want to see pics or it ain't happening.

Hey guys! New member here after just buying a 925A1 with a few questions.

:cookoo:Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Academy!:cookoo: Never heard that particular issue and I'm assuming that your truck has the 250 Cummins in it. My first thought would be a fuel constriction issue where there is a clog that moves once there is sufficient suction to move it enough to...

    Guntruck Gathering 2013

If I get all the fence up I may try to make it up there. By the way.....were there any 5-ton gun trucks in Desert Storm One, OIF or Afghanistan? I know they up-armored a lot of 900 series trucks before the MRAP's were fielded.

    Glovebox/cupholders for a 923

The foam cup the "Mickey D" tea comes in will keep ice for quite a while on the floor of the M927. When I was driving my last deuce I had some cup holders that I got at Advance Auto. They would go into the slot under the windshield but they were weak and if you put a full sweet tea cup in one...

    Glovebox/cupholders for a 923

But will it hold a "Mickey D Sweet Tea"? I just use a roll of duct tape on the floor. Low tech but effective.

    Possible project.....

As long as you don't mind being limited to 45 MPH and 2 MPG.

M936 5 ton wrecker for scrap metal use?

As long as you stay within the limitations you will be fine. Military wreckers were used more for the crane than for towing for the most part. The last thing you want to do is warp the boom..,...very pricey mistake.
